Hawks win by 20 points after a tight first half.
Good showing Dees but hawks but to good at the end win by say 3 goals

Think we'll give it a crack and helps with the Hawks potential outs (Huge if Gunston misses) but I just think they'll be too smart for us, especially the half forwards in Watson and Ginnivan. Melbourne probably need to drop Heath for Kentfield and let Gawn have a 90% TOG game with his usual towelling of the Hawks rucks along with Kozzy dominating again to be a chance.

Danger game for the Hawks.

Danger game for the Dees.

Danger game for the hearts of supporters. This will close. Hawks by 3pts in another thriller.

The merger match special.

Yep.

Hawks half forwards will be a handful. We need Gawn to play a blinder and need the big names to bring big games.

First ever game I went to... great game and I think I still have the 'No Merger' paper they were handing out.

Hawthorn are gettable but Melbourne played horribly against West Coast despite pulling away. There’s still a class gap between the two sides despite Hawthorns injury concerns. Not to say anything definitive, Hawthorn should still win this and go in favourites. Upset definitely possible, Melbourne have been impressive at times to start the year.

Melbourne at their best could give it a shake. Who knows which version will turn up. Hawthorn are more reliable even in their poorer performances e.g against Fremantle, Geelong, Port and Collingwood. That level is still probably enough to beat Melbourne unless they ramp it up to the way they played against GC and Brisbane.

Melbourne play the MCG a lot better than marvel.

Worried about our injuries.

Next 4 weeks will be a huge test be happy to 2-2 and reload after the bye.

Hawthorn do too, they play it unbelievably well.

Nash is a week, Day & Chol a week, Gunston/Dear tests. Barrass 3-5.

There’s great depth so not much of a worry, Scrimshaw a great replacement option for Barrass not considering Mraz.

Then you’ve got Hustwaite, Maginness, Nairn, Schubert, Hill, Dalton, BMac all pushing for spots and debuts.

I have hawthorn 4-0 during this period despite injuries. Clearly a class ahead of the sides they’re coming up against, 3/4 are at home, one at Marvel. I’d be happy with 3-1. The test will be this period but also Gold Coast away post bye.
