This is a tough one to pick.

We’ve been relatively good for the past three weeks. There is an expectation that we continue on our current trajectory. Hundreds of thousands of our fans would love to see it. If there is one thing I’ve learnt in our post-2020 world, its we rarely live up to expectations.

Port are coming off the bye and have plenty to play for. They currently sit 16th on the ladder. They haven’t finished bottom four since Matthew Primus second full year, 2012. Their loss to us in Round 2 would’ve stunned the club and first-year coach Josh Carr would be under no illusions they must win on Saturday night.

We haven’t beaten a club twice in the same year since we beat Adelaide in Round 18 2021.

I just fear Port Adelaide, who are hungry for more success, will burst our bubble on Saturday and get over the longer. I hope I’m wrong.

Think Port may be out for blood after losing the first meeting. Will depend on who shows up on the day, both sides have played some good games one week and been putrid the next. I gotta back the boys in but I think it will be close. Eagles by 4

Would be a good game to watch if it’s “good” West Coast v “good” Port Adelaide.

If the two “putrid” versions come out, we could descend to Essendon levels.

Port Adelaide are evidently rebuilding.

I think the Power’s loss to us in R3 would’ve shocked him and he would be determined to ensure they don’t become the first side we beat twice in the same year since we beat their older brother in 2021.

The expectations on us going into this game by our fans is similar to that of what they were against Sydney in R4, albeit on a smaller scale.

Easy kill.

Port by plenty. Nice to win this and then continue to tank for Dougie and our bonus ‘pushed back’ pick.

West Coast just stink and will have no answer to what a real number 1 pick looks like.

JHF to kick 7.

You know you don’t get a bonus pick right?

Provided Walker gets the first bid we do. Essendon hate Carlton. Essendon love Port.
No you don't. Clubs need to take a player with their pick in order to get it. Port and Carlton won't receive one regardless of the bid order as they are using their natural top 5 picks to match a bid.

Essendon
Richmond
West Coast
Port
Carlton

Essendon bid on Walker.
Carlton match.
Ports pick 'is pushed back to 5 from 4'
Essendon, Richmond, West Coast and Port all get an extra pick for being pushed back.

Essendon then bid on Dougie.
Port match.
No double extra picks for anyone. Everyone keeps their 1 awarded for Carlton matching the bid pushing everyone back.
