Who should come in? Who's out?

Adelaide are awful at half back, and opposition forward pressure have mowed them down. Quite a few players lack confidence and Butts is now out. I'm sure the mids will give it their best but the forward line delivery has been poor and rushed. It's already starting to look like a bottom 4 season. The only way Adelaide wins if Fremantle gets complacent, not many teams get complacent against Adelaide. Then you add the very average Thursday and Friday night home record at Adelaide Oval, although this game is not a prime time free to air game.

Fremantle by 21 points.

Another nail in the Crows 2026 season this Friday. 1-3 = top 6 credentials cooked and will then be in a fight to make the mediocre Wildcard weekend. No Butts and no Dawson again i am hearing. Freo will destroy us in the middle and nwe have nobody to stop Gonzo Treacy.

Fremantle by 4 goals

I have a feeling Freo. Just look way more dangerous up forward, and their mids are on fire. Ergo defence. Crows just haven't looked threatening at all, a bit sick of their low Ross Lyon style defensive slog. Hope Nicks is shown the door sooner rather than later.

Freo to start quickly by kicking the first 3-4 goals as Adelaide can barely touch the ball.
Adelaide slowly get into the contest and the game turns into a slog for the next 2 and a bit quarters, with Adelaide in particular struggling to move ball from d50 and goals coming by luck.
Game is almost gone and therefore Adelaide throws caution to the wind, kicking 3-4 goals in a row to take a lead by less than a goal. Crowd is roaring.
Umpires then have an almighty howler costing Adelaide and assisting Freo to retake the lead.
Freo win by less than two kicks.

I feel like I've seen this movie before.

Who needs the umpires when you have Nicks. Nicks to allow the team to play but a bit later than usual (yes mind blowing but it's Nicks) and we get close but don't hit the lead this time.

Don't worry, that sort of thing doesn't happen to us.

It's more likely the umps will call the game off when they get confused why they can't find a Blues player to give the ball to for the winning shot at goal.

Need to find a way to win this one, seeing it's about limiting the damage in the W column whilst we're injured/building back up.

Freo have shortened into favourites now, I know Fogarty and Thilthorpe didn't finish training, chances of a late out?

Who are your key outs?
Butts this week to add to Keane for key defenders.

Hinge & Laird also missing, so we don’t have a full strength defence.

Curtin been out all year.

If the Crows can't beat Freo, it will be as I thought, the finals humiliation coming from 1st to going out in straight sets from last year likely psychologically damaged the players.
