100%, some of the calls seemed like the umpires didn't even know some rules exist.

We didn't lose the game because of the umpires.

But the game loses a lot when they are that abysmal.

I found it interesting how many times they paid holding the ball in situations where play on would be a more appropriate call (ie - player holding the ball for a split second longer in a tackle before releasing, incorrect disposal when the player is tackled before even taking possession etc). It was an incredibly over-umpired game, and then they let everything go in the last two minutes.

It does feel like Swann has come in and gone overboard with changes, particularly with prior opportunity stuff. Not every contest has to be a free kick.

It's not that deep bro relax, just go on Jenny Craig, play the game in person not on the Playstation like your kind like to do, and you'll gain experience on the game.
Howdy!

"Your kind" is an interesting turn of phrase, isn't it? What do you mean by that, registered user Gw2_James?

No digging, I made calls during the game that were correct.

Feel free to go back and watch the game and see if you can understand what's going on.

Or did you miss the posts of North fans saying the umpiring was woeful?
I watched the entire game. The umpiring was horrible. Even made posts about it.

Your players, leaders and game plan lost you the game. Much like the week before.

They had no bearing on your inability to not fold under pressure, therefore coming away with the W.

Yeah and it highlighted how that stupid new last touch rule can have a ball going back the other way on a missed bad call.

Clearly Evans handball hit the North player in the shin before it went out but the umpire pulled a call out of his arse and got it massively wrong.

Without that rule it's just a throw in and no team benefits from it.

No disagreement there.

Its more some people on BF can't seem to understand the game enough to appreciate how bad the standard of umpiring was.

Some of the non-calls were simply mind bogging due to how obvious they were.

If that's the standard going forward the league is going to start losing fans.

Wait, you were the bloke sniping Wardlaw right? Any chance you caught the last 5 minutes? 4 huge tackles and an enormous smother?
By far the most desperate bloke on the field. Let that humble pie cool down a touch before you have a bite champion.
1 CLEARANCE FOR THE GAME! 1. with 20 cba's! Pathetic. That's his bloody job. Enjoy your humble pie.

yep, he was good in the last 5 mins. and yep super desperate. I'm not denying that. He also the worst skills on the ground, no composure and awful awareness. he was lucky not to give some costly frees away. They could've gone the other way, with how whistle happy the umps were.

Can we start with the Carlton ones?

Agree
Was poor adjudicated

Great chat. I wonder if it's because you can't really explain it without reflecting on your internal biases, which can be uncomfortable.

But that's just me wondering, of course.

You should spend more time wondering about football rules and less time about sounding like some left wing uni student.

He wont last the weekend.

Carlton are reactionary. Gawd help their next coach. They are an entitled toxic playing group and club.

If we were reactionary he'd have gone at the end of last season.

Which he should have, he's an awful AFL coach.

He was also an awful reality TV football coach.

Good god, how did you post this without all of the shame in the known universe?

He could clean up his disposal for sure, that will come with time; he’s played 39 games.

You know what you can’t teach? That maniacal attack on the footy. He was the most influential player on the field when it mattered most.

Blame the umps, they baffled me all game both ways.

Weita’s loss hurt, but not as much as the lack of ticker in the last 10 minutes.

Too many passengers and the bigger names went missing.
The umps didn't give up 7 goals in the last quarter.

The rules need to be changed so interpretation is taken away from the umpire

The rules are not clear cut and after each season they become more complicated. It’s the AFL‘s fault not the umpires

What an interesting perspective! You think I shouldn't care about people completely unnecessarily using fatness as an insult?
