Why isn't that a free kick back where it happened? The umpires basically just handed Port a goal.

Where the ball is or incident occurred + 50m whichever is more advantageous to the team receiving the free. So in that scenario it didn't matter which interpretation umpire used, shot was going to be taken from there.
