Which was the most not time. Several common sense decisions were poor tonight. Haynes out of bounds. Rankine throw. Harry mark. Countless. I guess the afl can’t afford a crows loss in gather round. Bunch of cheats.

The biggest issue with AFL rules is that we have a culture of wanting common sense. You dont get that in most codes around the world and they are better for it. Make rules that are called black and white.

Explain where the umpiring has cost Carlton.
The Crows dominance in the middle at the start of the second was built entirely on free kicks handing them clearances.

Rachele's throw in the second cost Carlton an easy shot on goal.

Finbarr's goal in the last for a ridiculously soft free that they ignored MacKay.

Soligo flopping for a non existent hold for the sealer.

The blatant deliberate for Murray.

Walker's throw for Rankine's last.

He didn't have people around him initially. He had the ball had plenty of time and space and then he chose to put himself under pressure by racing 7m to the goal line.

And you can find 100 examples already of players backing up, passing 'close' to a teammate and even tonight suddenly losing the ability to hold a footy (I forgot the Carlton player who did this).

They’d want him near 100% soon only so many bottom 4 games you have.

Tend to agree on Rachele but two good games as a mid/fwd

I think both Rachele and Rankine are good options to throw in the middle at times, but your core mids that are playing 85% ToG in the guts is a bit of a weakness. Berry is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, he is okay but Brisbane bats really deep in the middle. I think they need to poach another A grader.

They have had a pretty tough start to the year with the fixture, they will get plenty of wins you would imagine. But you never know, injuries, suspensions, etc can cause form to stagnate and confidence is a massive factor, if you lose confidence then the easy can become hard.

They need to get over the line against teams like Saints, Port, etc. You dont want to spend the majority of your finals campaign on the road, that is a tough slog.

Maybe next week you can drop the right players but watch Cerra and co still get picked
So Hewett had 7 tackles last week and that was the reason to keep him in but then Cerra has 7 tackles this week whilst also adding 7 clearances and a goal and he should get dropped? 2nd game back from injury he will be better for the run.

Nothing like a pear supporter to put things right about the crows. Lol. 😂

Why are we not in 2026 having an umpire watching the live feed for blatant free kicks.
Then the 4 field umpires would get upset. You’ve seen them - one of them has to blow the whistle from 100m away off the ball or the ego shrinks, can’t just let whoever is in control, control the play

How many 1 arms marking efforts tonight particular when it’s dry? Luckiest footballer going around because of his size and Riccuittos mate only being able to get a kick in the country footy league.

He's not the perfect player and he went missing in finals last year with a few one handed attempts then as well and no second efforts but he's far from a "spud". Can take a good mark and usually finishes well. I think he's in the best 22 of most afl teams pretty easily.

Um….if it comes off your toe and goes over the goal line from 2cm out it’s a goal, same as out on the full - those are the rules. What can’t people get?
It’s all context, of course.

If I punch the ball through my own goals it’s still a score, so if I punch the ball over the line should it be a free?

If I have to kick the ball 15 metres to be a mark, why do I have to kick the ball 8 cm from the line to concede a free?

If I can handball under pressure through my own goals from 8 mtrs out and only concede a point, why does a 10 cm touch off my calf handballed by my opponent get penalised as a free kick?

Context matters.

Last disposal in football makes so much more sense than last touch. Especially if there’s any hope of having football rules of the game work at amateur, regional, underage and school levels. how much different do we want the AFL competition to be from the rest of the sport?

And if there’s going to be last touch, get rid of the ARC, its was borderline embarrassing tonight. Umpires make a call, move on.

I see you're ignoring the dodgy frees/non-calls that went the other way also.

1 Soligo flop I'll take as opposed to the multiple flops Butters, Rozee and JHF do each game. But no, media shakes head etc

Yeah, it definitely didn't cross. But the arc guy definitely said "The ball crossed the line in the first instance". Very bizarre. The arc could've just said it went over after staying in play. That's where the afl just shoot themselves in the foot. It was just wrong by the arc.
I don’t think that’s what the arc said
The goal umpire got it perfectly right and should be commended
Those muppet commentators have no clue , basically shock jocks
