This should be a good one, reckon the Bulldogs will have it just by a bit though.

I am guessing Lobb plays ruck with English out. That might leave the Dogs a bit small down back against Chol/Lewis/Resting Ruck.

Or do they bring in Croft/Will Darcy

Hawks will smash us. Missing our only experienced ruck, no Richards who provides run and class going inside 50, no Libba, missing our best small forward of 2026 in Jones. Newcombe and Weddle always go big. Expecting Meek and Reeves to have fun in the middle, and the Hawks forwards to run the Dogs defence off their feet. Surprised most are tipping the Dogs in here.

There have been some cracking home and away matches between these two teams in recent years. Looking forward to this. I think a genuine flip of the coin. Hoping Cam MacKenzie comes back in the for the hawks to add to our midfield rotations. Hawthorn should really capitalise on English's absence. Think the doggies might be the real deal though and will get in done in a belter by single digits.

English Richards Libba out makes this one tricky
We are off a 5 day break in a hard running game while the Dogs are off the bye. The outs give us a chance at least

Stop trying to gain some sort of underdog status.

Massive favourites and the markets reflect it.

If we were full strength I'd be confident, but we are far off it

Honestly, think if the dogs win this one, Bont will have to turn into Superman. Bulldogs' 3 interstate trips in the first 6 weeks will most likely take their toll. But this is the advantage of being 4 - 0. They have room to lose games now, where in the past, the dogs have been chasing wins to catch up.

A 5 day break after that game against Geelong is going to be taxing.

I mean, it’s really not that hard to consider.

Uhuh... and the dogs are missing several integral pieces. Hawthorn is strong favourite for a reason which will only intensify as the game gets closer.

Hawks I’d say comfortably.

Hawthorn usually do really well against the Dogs, think it’s the last 3/4 times they’ve beaten them.

Also with so many key outs it’s hard to see a reason against it. English is a huge out considering he’s the dogs really only recognised ruck, I think Croft probably does the gig.

Still no Libba, Richards etc although Treloar is back I think so that should help. Still a deep midfield and have all their components forward and back, so will be a good game still.
