BOG Fremantle Lauchie Schultz

Maynard is apparently tough but that effort on Johnson was gutless and pathetic.
Cost his team the game

This was perfectly said
Yes. We do not have any key forwards & really have not had any since Travis Cloke retired. While we had Mihocek & to a lesser extent Cox, we could get away with it. However now with loss of those 2 plus the ageing process undoubtedly affecting Elliott, in my opinion, the forward line is pretty much dysfunctional as shown by tonight's effort. I think that we are going to have a pretty underwhelming year going forward in 2026.

We can talk about the quality of the game all night, the fact of the matter is we don't win either of tonight's game or the one against the Crows last year, if this was 2025 we'd have crumbled to pieces the moment Collingwood or Adelaide got going.

Our younger guys are quietly maturing and gaining more synergy each game, they're backing themselves in much more, it might not be obvious or clear to neutral fans, but as a Fremantle fan, it's a night and day difference with our team right now compared to last year.

We've now beaten two finals contenders away back to back in close affairs, you wouldn't have said that last year. Just keep winning, it doesn't matter how.

We should realistically be beating West Coast and Carlton comfortably to go 6-1.

Freo looking a million times better when Jackson solo rucks

Whod have thunk it hey
I say this all the time and get told I’m an idiot by so many other Freo fans who have a weird obsession with Darcy…

Jackson is a star, genuinely could be the best ruck in the comp if he’s actually just allowed to play as a genuine number 1 ruck.

I’ll be interested to see how it goes with Cox actually, more of a backup/rest forward guy.

Cox dominated in your reserves.
He's actually a much maligned player. Certainly no star but in terms of fitting in to this current Fremantle team, not so sure. Can't play all of Amiss, Voss, Treacy, Jackson. No need for Darcy as he is literally no marking/forward threat.

Darcy would have been a very good fit at Geelong when we were linked to him a few years ago. Even right now, he's regressed considerably but would still slot in perfectly with the outside brigade we have around the ruck contest.

Someone's forgotten wins against the Dogs, Pies and Suns on the road last year.

The Dockers will be fine and are contenders for top 4 at this stage. Adelaide and Collingwood will drop out, Geelong are a maybe. There's still the Suns, Swans, Hawks and Dogs though. It's way too early to make a big call on any of those teams. Lions will coast a lot and win it from 7th or coast a little and win it from 2nd.

All great wins to be fair, but I don't know, I can just see a different look to them now, they've grown a lot over the off-season. It's just the small things that are finally starting to click and the foot soldier/role player types are cleaning up their ball usage and making less mistakes.

There's skill, run and X factor sprinkled through the team, which helps deciding the clutch games or having a burst when necessary.

What I will say is the Crows and Pies are not going to be measuring sticks this year. I think the tests this year for premiership contention will be Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs, Sydney and Geelong. The games between that group (including Freo) will tell us a fair bit.

Pretty bad game to watch, probably one of those as a Freo supporter that you'd take the win, bank the 4 points and move on never to watch it again :tearsofjoy:

There I fixed this for you

There I fixed this for you
Pies supporters crying about Geelong after a loss? Only seen that 2 other times this season. You have some friends in the Bay.

The Cats have beaten Freo and Adelaide. The Pies lost both times.

Then Adelaide have failed to beat Geelong, the Dogs and Freo. They have beaten two much weaker sides.
