Confirmed: Treacy is a star. Taking marks few others could.

Someone at Geelong show his tape to Shannon Neale.

You're being a bit harsh on Neale, who is already a very good player tracking to be even better, but yes, Treacy is top shelf.

Always funny when someone tries to detract from your footy knowledge just because you're team isn't performing.
It’s one of the more ridiculous points people make. People don’t know any less because they support a team with not much success. It really is a bizarre take!

What knowledge might that be?

Having a crack at a team that beat their team? Low IQ moment
Why are you offended someone had a go at a team you don’t support? It’s called footy banter petal maybe have a lie down and recover

Pies supporters crying about Geelong after a loss? Only seen that 2 other times this season. You have some friends in the Bay.

The Cats have beaten Freo and Adelaide. The Pies lost both times.

Then Adelaide have failed to beat Geelong, the Dogs and Freo. They have beaten two much weaker sides.
Don’t cry that I don’t rate Geelong this season

Only crying from laughter that you had Collingwood as a top 4 team in the ladder prediction thread.

Also, you had Geelong 3rd. I only think (for now) they are 1 of 7 teams cying for top 4. So you're actually more bullish on the Cats than me.
Cats will be fine and there and thereabouts all year. Top 6 id suggest.

We played an absolute stinker last night (apart from 2 5 minute bursts) and Collingwood still couldn’t kick a big enough score to beat us. Theyre in a world of hurt I think.

Yes. We do not have any key forwards & really have not had any since Travis Cloke retired. While we had Mihocek & to a lesser extent Cox, we could get away with it. However now with loss of those 2 plus the ageing process undoubtedly affecting Elliott, in my opinion, the forward line is pretty much dysfunctional as shown by tonight's effort. I think that we are going to have a pretty underwhelming year going forward in 2026.
What about Dan McStay?

I could see Geelong finishing as low as 10th or as high as top 4. It's just too early to tell yet. I think we're in that group of 7 or so teams who should have solid aspirations this season, but negative results can quickly change that. It's been a mixed bag so far.

I agree about Collingwood. They scraped past the Saints at the G who had a shocking kicking day, and are bang average anyway. Then they beat up on a heavily depleted Giants team that have not been going well. They have failed their 3 tests so far and some of the older players aren't able to carry them anymore, with a lack of quality/depth in that 25 and under group.

I’d have that same top group but am including Adelaide in it still, I know some have gone off them, but they’ve lost 3 really close ones to other contenders and have been pretty injury hit.

Arguably the 8 teams in the hunt are - Brisbane, Sydney, Freo, Suns, Dogs, Cats, Hawks and Crows.

Fell asleep at quarter time and then woke up for about the last ten minutes. Better off for the sleep.

I do have them above the Pies. They just run so hot and cold within games, and their ball movement hasn't been the same since late last season.

As always, a lot will depend on who wins the clutch games when they play each other. Freo have done that 2 of 3 times, Geelong 2 of 3, Hawthorn 2 of 2, Dogs 2 of 2 etc.

That’s ok. I was optimistic at the time, we can all make mistakes, just as you have by adding Geelong to the list of contenders.

Cats will be in the wildcard round with Collingwood my friend.

I understand why you hope Geelong are going to decline at an equivalent rate to Collingwood. It's a coping mechanism.

All I said is that for now, Geelong are 1 of 7 teams that should be vying for a top 4 spot. Collingwood should be trying to make sure they can at least finish in the wildcard spots. Either team could fall below those levels.

The Pies have had 1 win against a team since May 2025: the QF against Adelaide.

Geelong in that time have beaten Gold Coast, Sydney, Brisbane, Hawthorn, Fremantle and Adelaide.

David King last night dropped all pretence and said " Come on Carlton, we are right in this". Dickhead.
I think it was more they'd been bashed in the media all year( and rightly so) and he was looking for a response from them. Would have been the same if a lowly west coast etc were in the same boat. If you think he was barracking for them due to them being Victorian you're well off.
The only biased commentators I hear are the ones on radio from Perth and Adelaide. They actively barrack.

Typical Freo fan, can't even have a pleasant conversation about their own team winning without making it about West Coast.. #rentfree
Or umpiring corruption.

One of the simple pleasures of being a Geelong fan is KRock.
