Should be the showpiece standalone game.
Geelong fixture boy "Not on my watch!"
Nah, shouldn’t be. This gets broadcast on FTA in Sydney, which is great for them.

Geelong and Bulldogs fans get their game broadcast in Victoria. Which is where most of their fans live.

Geelong and bulldogs do get a few FTA games, but taking a slot away from Victorian clubs just makes it even less likely that a team like North Melbourne get FTA access. Brisbane/Gold Coast, Adelaide teams, west Australian teams and the Sydney teams get all their games on FTA in their home towns. Yet Vic clubs have to compete for 3 slots

The Friday night double header is great, much better than Thursday night footy

They could make it like the NRL and their Friday Night double headers, so there is no overlap in game times.

Giants would have penciled this one in on the footy calendar early summer. They are sick to death of losing to their neighbors and I think we see a much more physical and determined outfit flip the tables and Giants get the win by 4 goals.

Rampe and Daniels - 'Managed'.

Wow - pretty early in the season with a bye each already. Rampe was very good last week.
Daniels literally came back from a long term injury 5 days ago. And has a history of said injury. Cant blame the club for being cautious.

Not terribly optimistic about this game, we either wring out a miracle win or get absolutely demolished and no inbetween.

Been pretty disappointed with our disjointed style of play so far this year which has looked far from the peaks of our games under Kingers. Nonetheless still lots of footy to come and regardless of the result hope it's a cracking game for neutrals.

Clearly the AFL knew this game would descend into an absolute mauling so they chucked another (likely closer) game on so that the good folk of BigFooty wouldn’t complain about their Friday nights being ruined.
