Robbo thinks that the Cox Plate/GF day will be a great day of socialising and jokingly asked for the day off.

Ah no robbo COVID restrictions will still be in mate. No one or very few will beat the Valley that day and I doubt that people will be allowed out for big GF parties.

It's one of the great misnomers about "access" being valuable for its own sake.

Yeah the broadcasters want to talk to players and think that "access" is what people want. But if the players don't say anything interesting, who cares? The "access" on its own isn't as big a deal as they think.
When a player is interviewed during a game - 'great access there' the commentators will say, because there is absolutely no reason to discuss anything that the player has said. Hodge gets interviewed huffing and puffing on the bench during a quarter - 'great access there'. For what point? Same obviously applies to 360.

Certainly not a must watch show anymore. Still has its moments, but has become too self-indulgent, matey and dull.

They need to realise that player and coach interviews are generally pretty boring.

Sometimes less is more. Cutting it back a bit might help and perhaps putting some different faces on Fox Footy during the week (e.g. Huddo).

It‘s too samey, too predictable and just boring now.

King comes up with theories and data which is usually completely meaningless, Maclure is the grumpy uncle half asleep after a Christmas lunch.

Riewoldt (both of them) - boring, Treloar - boring. The coaches they have on usually give no real insights and then you’ll have Gerard moaning about score review and then Robbo taking 10 minutes to deliver a stop, start, huff and puff, shouty monologue about something he thinks is the most important thing on the earth.

Not surprised they’re shedding viewers.

Exactly. Coaches and player interviews are boring as rocks. All want is to hear robbo go on more trumpesque rants and then watch gerard put him in his box. Thats what we want.

How disjointed are Robbo’s rants? You can almost see the hamster in his brain fall of its wheel, get back on again, fall off, get back on.

We need MORE access. How about the locker rooms before the game? I really want to hear from the player puking from nervousness and from the other whose taking his pregame dump. Missing some insights there I reckon.

;)

Surely they could also utter a few cliches as they leave their hotel room and hop in the elevator. Definitely an opportunity there.

Here's an idea. Get someone like Jacko or Swanny or some other loose cannon. Bring him into the studio a couple of hours before the taping. Make him sit in the green room with a game replaying, and a 6 pack. Then wheel him out and ask him his opinion of the game.
Couldn't be worse than current format. :)

Remember a few years back when Blighty was commentating? If he thought something was crap, he'd say so. Rubbed a few people up the wrong way at the AFL who were in the process of trying to brainwash people into believing the game has never been better :)

I know Murphy became a bit long in the tooth but I did like seeing some of his rascal callbacks tonight - Hodge kicking the ball at Birchall or whoever it was was fantastic, and I will never ever not laugh at Steve Johnson joining the little Port Adelaide onfield meeting.

I know robbo is a bit of a punching bag for us fans but he’s just a guy at the pub talking footy who loves the game and he acknowledges a lot of his own shortcomings.

I’ve certainly gotten a lot of joy watching 360 over the journey

Had to laugh last night when Robbo suggested the could possibly give Tommy Hawkins the AA captaincy as a legacy decision.

Even Whately sounded surprised.

Robbo thinks that saying things that make no sense is "left-field" and shows he's a real lateral thinker. A bit like the dumbest 20 per cent on BigFooty.

Considering the weird decisions on the AA Captaincy over the past couple of years, Robbo may be onto something..
