If we're going to get into a stadium debate, I'm going to say that there is no way in hell they should ever touch NSO. It's beautiful for its purpose.
Obviously not now. But as I said, in an alternate timeline, it is entirely possible that they would do it to suit a professional football team al la the SCG

As rabbitoh21 said there isnt any other options for AFL in Northern Sydney without redevelopment. Since it is hypothetical I rekon if youre gonna use an existing stadium, NSO is preferred. But a brand new stadium, thats another story. To the Sydneysiders, what do you rekon? Personally, the "most AFL oval" in northern Sydney is Weldon Oval in Curl Curl which is apart of the region's sports grounds. That would be the most practical option IMO

Can we have a 2019 sequal to this and see how things have changed?

I don't see why not... I'd almost be willing to do 2029. Gives me a bit of leeway with the picky types. ;)

And as I said to rabbitoh21, not in our timeline. This is a hypothetical timeline in which it is entirely possible

Can't see the composition of the league changing in the next 4 years... perhaps a few modifications on existing jumpers though.

I'm assuming he means a 2019 update based on these guernseys, not the present day. :)

Pls re-do the AFL logo and keep the shape of the 90s one. I love the old logo, gives me fuzzies seeing it on jumpers.

I agree, it's a fantastic logo. The only. Thing that gets under my skin about it is the link to the union jack.

Hey, reading through this thread, just wanted to say excellent designs. I love 90s footy-core. One question though, I've been trying to hunt down the font used in the club logos, e.g "Bears", "Lions", "Saints", "Heritage Round", etc. Do you know what it is?

Merging into the league... the Melbourne Lions!

View attachment 183873
The twist: In 1994, the Fitzroy Lions, amidst all their financial issues, found safe-haven in a merger with the also-struggling Melbourne Demons; creating the now Melbourne Lions. The home jumper is the traditional Melbourne yoke jumper with a gold border along the yoke, whilst the away jumper contains the same design however with the Fitzroy colouring. With both clubs combining resources and players, they would soon become a major player once more in the AFL.
I don't know if you seen it but I did a very similar design a month or so ago in the Guernsey ideas thread

As a mad Footy fan, I love all of the designs, because I do similar things myself, but I do have a few critisims on a few of the designs
1. I personally would have stuck with the royal blue that the SANFL has had for many years, I mean it would have been so much better for Adelaide I reckon
2. When you said that Fitzroy had merged with a Melbourne based club, I was really annoyed that it could have been my Doggies
3. The Port Adelaide and St.Kilda Geurnseys are genius
Lastly, The North-South Sydney thing, Not A fan, one bit
All in All, Amazing concepts, funny how I found this but just trying find things for my own concepts :):thumbsu:

I'm looking at doing another '99 portfolio - either NSL '99 or NBL '99. That, or revisit the AFL '29 concept and just do AFL '19.

What do you guys wanna see?

Given that you've already done a NBL portfolio, I'd like to see an NSL one.

As a HUGE fan of 90's-00's NBL, I'd love to see a portfolio of that era!

I've long thought an alternate soccer league, a continuation of the NSL that rivals the A-League, would be a good idea. Or you could do that from '99 and have some of the ethnic clubs splintering off, or the other way around with Perth Glory, Northern Spirit, and a lot more sides like Carlton SC and Collingwood Warriors creating a more catch-all comp. That's a decent idea actually.

An NBL competition for now that has a sole purpose to become the number two world competition, feeding to the number two world national side (second to the NBA and USA) would be cool. Make it pander to American audiences as a morning TV competition in their NBA off-season or something, have some retired players come back to represent Perth Wildcats, Melbourne Tigers, new teams would be interesting. As you could spin it as a mainly TV competition that is funded by say ESPN, you could justify 20 teams in Australia without it seeming stupid.
