Good to hear the powerpuff cheer squad apparently went to the Sheffield Shield opening game on the new AO and started a power chant to claim a 1st ownership on the oval..
Oh they provide the lulz. Insecure much?
To quote a certain former Prime Minister, perhaps they need to...

and lol, just realised this

Nov 13 - 16, West End Redbacks v Alcohol Think Again Western Warriors, Live from the Adelaide Oval.
Carlton Draught have it covered both ways with their sponsorship of the sub. Wayne Phillips tellling me to think about subbing a softie for a beer really annoys me.

Went to the first session today to get a feel for the ground. I never thought I would see such a cauldron in sleepy old Adelaide. It will have massively more atmosphere than AAMI ever did, although (and the traditionalists will flame me for this) I found the northern end very much an anachronism compared tot he rest of the stadium. I was originally not in favour of the redevelopment, but having seen what has been done so far, I now think the stadium would have been better with a stand at the northern end of the same design as the Southern Stand.

It certainly is more a a coliseum atmosphere than AAMI had, which was an open bowl. Adelaide Oval has much steeper stands and you really feel like you are on top of the play, unlike AAMI where the stands were shallower and you felt further away from the play. I tried several spots in the Members stand and I found the best place to watch was from the concourse of the 2nd level where I felt right on top of the play.

Couldn't take any pics as I forgot my phone  but I think the viewing experience at Adelaide Oval will be 2nd to none.

I'm not usually one to complain before seeing how it turns out but that Northern end does concern me for us particularly. I've got no doubt it will be a great summer stadium, and the 3 other sides in Winter will be very good. However just looking at the photos... has the hill been flattened? if so, assuming everyone has to stand in winter, which I wouldn't personally mind, since a lot of people don't get to sit undercover anyway, and we we don't manage to line every one in rows according to height haha only a few rows deep will be able to see anything.

It's fine for the other tenants at AO, like Etihad, or the MCG when I've been they let the cheaper wet seats move into the empty better undercover seats however we won't have these blocks of vacant seats (hopefully!).

Any one who went today I'm guessing only the Northern end and Members stand was accessible? are there enough food and drink outlets/toilets etc available at the Northern end or do people have to enter the eastern stand and has the Members stand been upgraded for a footy crowd at quarter time?

Nope, certainly the hill has a slope on it.

Correct, only those two stands were open.

are there enough food and drink outlets/toilets etc available at the Northern end or do people have to enter the eastern stand and has the Members stand been upgraded for a footy crowd at quarter time?

Not sure about food, but there's certainly enough toilets IMO at the Northern end.

My answers in red.

Did it make them feel like they were getting 1 up on us or something?
Just incredibly insecure. From a history of dominating a small pond, they are now not only a small fish in the large pond that is the AFL but they are also the poor relation in their own patch.

For decades a successful enterprise in their own right, they now rely on equalisation - kind of like the guy who had a successful business, tried to grow it but now relies on his parents to pay the bills.

Has to mess with your head, consequently you see these little outbursts from time to time - very sad

To anyone who went, How did it feel in terms of seeing over the ground compared to AAMI? It's always been a turn off for me going to games in the fact that 60% of the game I don't know what's going on (although I finally got glasses).

Isnt that completely arrogant and disrespectful to the redbacks.
