Just copied this from the stadium page, going to be amazing walking across the bridge to Adelaide oval at night! View attachment 35866
Thanks for sharing.

It's going to hard to comprehend that something so awesome could be in Adelaide. Looks like it'll give the feeling you get when you go to the MCG or ETIHAD. Very happy with how it's all looking.

City commuters are unlikely to use it at all - those on public transport won't get near it, nor will those driving, and the rest already have their choice of four bridges to cross depending which side of the city they're in and heading north from, this new one is unlikely to create a more convenient route for most of them.
It was made though to get people from cricket/football to the casino. There was a push that the bridge should also lead to the convention centre and people wanted to build around there for oval crowds.

There is suposed to be a public wankfest consultation for people who want to build there and the nimby crowd. What we will end up with is like the committee that tried to build a horse and ended up with a camel.

The reality is if Adelaide wanted to encourage people to go into the city Friday, Saturday nights after the footy they had to create a quick and appealing access to entertainment and public transport. I certainly don't mind the bridge in its location. The bridge was definitely needed to get huge crowds off and away from King William street as they make their way back into the city. I go into the city every day and I think Adelaide truly is starting to buzz with a good atmosphere from all the great developments. Feels good to see all the modernisation happen.

Still think the bridge should have been covered for when it rains.
umm no. really just no. no no no no no no no no no. and finally NO.

and what happens either side of the bridge, the entire exterior concourse covered? where does that cover extend to? it rains, you are probably going to get wet if you go outside.

Australians are possibly the most coddled and whiny bunch ever. meanwhile in Green Bay.

I barely know one of their songs but obviously a big event for the oval so well done. I do question having such a large event a week before footy starts, this will probably be something we have to get used to now to justify the cost of the redevelopment, I know other grounds have had problems but the cases I remember are when the events have been a day or two earlier. Would a week be enough for the ground to recover from all the stage/equipment/people?

I remember the Foo Fighters concert a couple years back at Adelaide Oval they covered the whole oval with a plastic mat covering so I'd imagine they would do the same for this concert. The damage to the surface would be minimal.

Those plastic mats kill the grass though

"The Strolling Bones" - Great, let's see a bunch of decrepit old blokes past their day play songs that majority of Gen Y & X don't know, meanwhile costing us a s***load for them to get here. *ducks for cover*

Hate to throw a negative spin on this, but surely they could've had someone better.

To be fair though they are one of only a few bands that would be worthy.
But every generation is going to have a different idea of "worthy" bands.

I'm sure The Rolling Stones were fantastic in their day, but they just don't impress me anymore, nor do they play music in tune with my taste.

I think for whinging people like myself, there's a really good solution to this: Don't go.

I mean they would be one of a few mainstream acts big enough to be able to sell out the stadium. THe only others that may would be U2, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, maybe a few others but it has to be a mainstream act which is multi generational. Can't be the latest metal or hip hop act for instance.

One Direction = No thank you
Andre Rieu = No thank you...

I do see your point, in comparison to these mentioned, TRS is a much better idea. Would've been happy with any of Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Pearl Jam etc.
Yeah they could all psosibly do it. But it's pretty tough because they have to have widespread appeal.
