http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/afls_sydney_swans_gear_up_with_europcar/

Europcar will remain the associate partner and official car hire supplier of Australian Football League (AFL) side the Sydney Swans for a further year.

The one-year extension with the club will include Europcar branding on LED signage at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the Sydney Swans’ website and the team’s Facebook page. Europcar will also have access to corporate hospitality at SCG home games.

Hawthorns sponsorship with Tasmania seems likely to be extended

http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/hawks-tasmania-want-to-continue-partnership-20141001-10ossw.html

"This important partnership, in its 14th year, is so much more than a commercial arrangement," Hodgman said.

"It is true it generates about $8 million in terms of the exposure the state gets, it is magnificent for our economy.

"It is a great catalyst for economic activity, and Launceston booms when the Hawks are in town, but it is important for the whole state that we recognise Hawthorn's efforts in being active in our schools and charities."

North's Mazda deal, ending in 2016, here.
the Tasmanian & Hawthorn sponsorship ends in 2015 & the AFL is pushing North to make bigger inroads into the Tasmanian market, you wonder if the AFL will push the Tasmanian government to sponsor the Kangaroos in some capacity

I think the only thing that might persuade them would be to start sending the big clubs down to Tassie as a sweetner. The Government pretty much ignored the AFL last time the Hawks deal was up for negotiation.

Technically though, Ttlines which is a sponsor of Norths Tasmanian gigs, is a government owned body.

Long term sponsorships
Qbe -Sydney
Hyundai - Carlton (albeit break)
Sgio- west coast
Toyota - Adelaide (the Camry crows)

You forgot the longest, Ford and Geelong
Yep silly me! Ford and the cats, the heart and soul of Geelong.
It's comparable to the medical company bayer and the football team Leverkusen in Germany. Any other good examples where the team and corporation, which feed into one another, are the heart and soul of a town/city?

The super club: one example that comes to mind is Carlton fc and the Carlton soccer. lug. The super club is big in Europe. A good example is fenerbache in turkey with the soccer team (main entity), basketball team swimming and Athletics and more.

What I'm getting at here is with the rise of the big bash, and the large proportion. Of fans that follow both afl and cricket, the notion of a super club should be considered. A natural marriage could occur between the stars and pies (damn you Eddie). But if the cricket Australia wants to move into the gold coast for example and start a bbl franchise then they should use the suns to leverage themselves into the market. Same name and colors and form a super club on the coast
