It would seem that the most likely winners of the Gary Ayres award are either Jack Crisp or Patrick Dangerfield.

Isaac Smith started with 0 votes, so even with a hypothetical perfect 10 * 1.5 Grand Final loading, the most he can finish with is 15 votes.

Tom Hawkins started with 5 votes, and in order to win, would need another 12 (possible), and get more votes in the Grand Final than Dangerfield (unlikely).

Gary Rohan had a poor game, and I can't see him getting any votes, and will probably remain on 9 votes.
Gryan Miers is also unlikely to poll any votes, and will probably remain on 8 votes.

Callum Mills started with 11 votes, and will probably stay at that level.
Luke Parker started with 13 votes, and will probably also stay at that level.

Patrick Dangerfield started with 10 votes. He needs more than 6 to overtake Crisp. 4 votes * 1.5 Grand Final loading = 6 votes. So to win outright, he needs 5 votes * 1.5 Grand Final loading = 7.5 votes.

So that means he needs at least (5+0) or (4+1) or (3+2). Given that he finished a clear second in the Norm Smith medal voting, I think it's highly likely he will get the 5 votes needed, and take out the award.

Tom Hawkins would need at least (4+4) or (5+3) to overtake Crisp, and given the performances of Smith and Dangerfield, I don't see that happening.

It's strange that they have updated this page
https://aflcoaches.com.au/awards/gary-ayres-award-best-finals-player/leaderboard/2022/20220127
with the voting

22 Dangerfield
16 Crisp (Collingwood)
15 De Goey (Collingwood)
15 Neale (Brisbane)
15 Isaac Smith
14 Tom Hawkins

but they have not updated this page

with Dangerfield on the honour roll.

I'm fairly sure there was outrage when we filled half the AA side in 2007, before going on to 119 the competition. Nobody kicks up a fuss about the AA team anymore.

Let's make sure the same thing happens in 2022.
Happy Antonio Banderas GIF

Danger should be pleased winning the Ayres medal in view of the previous criticism of his performance in finals. Well deserved.

Selwood, Danger, Hawkins and Duncan have been our best pollers since it was introduced in 2016. All can hold their heads very high for their contributions over that whole period. This year, like 2020 (but moreso), a lot of players joined them.

This seems as good a place as any to post this. Apparently we're the 3rd best sports team in Australasia...

Wonder if our friends from Punt Road are miffed they didn't make the list, considering it takes into account the last 5 years, and not just the season just completed.
