What the hell are they doing with all the dough at Camryland? Someone should call in the Feds

They don't need profits in adelaide - just stay in the black. The AFL would never screw them over.

I think Essendon and Hawthorn have salted a few million for a rainy day.

If all clubs had 2-4 mill stashed away there'd be $70 mill idle and fans feeling ripped off.

Isn't it obvious? They've figured out that jumbo profits just means money going to the SANFL for some kudos. They've obviously decided that kudos from local football isn't worth it.

Youd think Port supporters would be the last to comment on the Crows putting money back into the SANFL.

Have Port paid a penny yet?

At least it should shut those TROSA followers up who whinge about Port dudding the SANFL.

I certainly have no empathy for the Adelaide Crows as I live in Adelaide and they drive me crazy, but I think it must be said the $154,000 figure is AFTER the dividend is paid back into the SANFL clubs. (I may be wrong, but that is what I believe).
From what I hear, for some unexplained reason, Port Adelaide haven't paid one cent back to the local competition, and a lot of people want to know why.

The first part is correct, The Crows regularly make profits of the order of a million dollars give or take a few pennies. 80% (I believe) has to be given to the SANFL as part of the license agreement between the AFC, the AFL and the SANFL. AFC's profits will go up again this year, due to the extra 6,000 silver memberships (Seasons tickets @ $150 odd) that were able to be sold due to the new North Stand at Footy Park. (rougly $900,000 extra)

As for Port, I believe they were given a really hard time of it re: their licence agreement with the AFL. They allegedly have been working their arses off to clear it, so they can actually turn a 'profit' and return some $$ to the SANFL. I stand to be corrected though.

Well, they claim to be the club for all South Australians - all nine clubs. Surely their responsibility to the SANFL is far greater.

Yes, only one year when we haven't.

This is the first year of a 5 year TV deal that is supposed to bring in 500 million dollars. Where is that money? Really they clubs seem to be no better off than with channel 7's pittance of a TV deal. So who is benefiting from that? Then theres the issue of Waverly. It was sold for a nice sum of money of which I think the AFL is holding in its accounts. Nice little earner at 5% interest considering it was sold a while ago. Are the AFL going to split the interest earned with the clubs, or are they going to just give them the interest on the $2million they are supposed to give the clubs as their share. An extra $100K would help a few clubs yes? Or most likely pocket the money.

Mate, we`ve still got war bonds that haven`t been cashed in.
Unfortunately (for Essendon) the war is over.
I think they are now called Junk Bonds.
