MVP AFL Coaches Association votes 2018

This is pretty remarkable. Surely becoming a pretty decent chance to win the Brownlow:

He's been super consistent.

But it also means his average votes is less than 5 votes per game, which means he will probably get a lot of 1s or just miss a vote. Brownlow medalists are the guys that get 10 votes i.e. 3 Brownlow votes.

Has a decent polling history though, so that will help.

Also something to be said for recency bias. All the FA talk means he will be a lot more prominent / front of mind for the umpires than previous years.

Umps have liked him in the past more than he's probably deserved, so that may be a factor.

Was Crozier that good?

Do they publish a running total of West Coast votes anywhere?
He was pretty good but its not hard for a half back flanker to get a ton of the ball in a floggings. His heat maps shows that his hot spots is well inside their defensive 50.

Votes from the Derby

10: Yeo
7: Redden
4: Gaff
3: Sheppard
3: Cripps
2: Darling

One coach had Gaff second BOG behind Yeo, the other gave him no votes. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to which coach was which?

The Brownlow predictor is interesting, Yeo right up there.

I actually thought Ross might give Ballantyne or Johnson a vote tbh...

I don't think Yeo is gonna contend this year, but I'm gonna put a cheeky 50 on him next year's. The guys a jet.

My syndicate just put $10 on Yeo at 81/1.

Unlikely to win but seems decent value. Especially if he can get a few votes in the last three.

Agree that Mitchell should romp it in.

Yeah I just chucked 10 on as well (at 101), just in case Yeo smashes these last 3 games!
