I'd personally be offended if Naitanui was on the cover, I know you mentioned most recognisable players, but if we're going for an AFL game the elite would be on there; which Naitanui is definitely not regarded as.

Point taken and I agree he's not elite (yet). However being elite doesn't mean you're the most marketable player, so I could see Naita as a possibility of being on there just because of his cult figure popularity alone.
Barlow on the other hand is no chance as he isn't elite nor is he recognisable/marketable.

100% agree.

Just because Naitanui is a bit weird looking with his hair and he really stands out doesn't exactly mean he's marketable either.

Barlow is in no way marketable or really recognisable to the non-AFL fan and I'd say that Naitanui wouldn't be as well, not to mention Naitanui is just absolutely no where near the other players mentioned (bar Thomas) in being the absolute top echelon of AFL players.

And yes this game can be marketed to non-AFL fans (just like FIFA, NBA, NFL games can be marketed to those who have no idea of the actual game but just like the way the video games play).

Your previous list of "Pav, Naitanui, Dale Thomas, Riewoldt, Franklin, J. Brown, Ablett, Cousins" take out Naitanui and Thomas and it's probably just about right for nationally known AFL stars (Pav probably doesn't really even have much of a profile though even outside of AFL fans knowing him).

Covers need more McLaren, if the game is anything like real life his stats will be off the chart...

But seriously how good would unlockable characters like McLaren or Demetriou. Wouldn't really be worth it though... no head high bumps.

btw what did the eyetoy do in that game?

The Eyetoy allowed you to scan your own face and put it on a player ingame, it looked kind of shocking actually, but did work

They basically stuck a 2D cutout of your face onto the face of another player. It looked like they were wearing a mask. Quite horrible really.

Most of the covers here are just copies of EA's theme. Bigant won't be making a cover that will be confused for EA.
