I know shipping 17 different covers isn't feasible, but would it be possible to have a pre-order bonus that's exclusive to EB being you get an extra insert (I think Glenno called it a slick) of your team's captain/marquee player along with the default one? Making it limited time would allow plenty of time for TruBlue/HES to print the right number for each time and assign them to each store before release.

Thoughts? IMO it's a better option than a tacky ball that's only good for kids...

I think doing something like that would cost a bit too much money

Its easier and cheaper for the publisher to have just 1 cover.

It would also be a logistical nightmare for retailers to call all the pre orders and ask what cover they want, then make note of it, then make sure when each individual one comes in that the right person gets it. Would be even worse in Victoria with the 10 teams

I frankly don't give a hoots whats on the front, i just want the game

I doubt anyone has ever really considered chucking an official cover/slick in the bin, making their own & using that for any game ever so if personalised covers are your thing, you know what to do. Make & print your own.

On the subject of pre order/bonus/team covers etc,
I believe an US sports game had a code that allowed access to a website so you could print your teams cover. Quite sure it was mentioned in one of the earlier threads.
Either way, this game is to far done for late cover art changes.

interesting to note that bigant kept likeness to the previous titles by calling it afl live (also im guessing as online play will be major draw for this title), which means they don't have obligation to sequel 2012,13, etc, cover isn't the best, wonder if the developers took time to read this thread and take some ideas down on what the true afl gamers would like to see

I'm not very good at photoshop. Would someone like to have a stab at making a cover with Chris Newman grabbing his own jumper after scoring a goal last year against the Hawsk (might have been round 8 or so?). I can't find the image anywhere but I remember the video being played a bit that week in the media.

I think it would make a great cover.
