Figured as much. So does that mean we'll have to put Polak onto the LTII? I guess that means we draft the kid we would have got at pick 6 or 7 in the PSD via the Rookie list, and elevate them. Assuming we take Ben in the PSD now.
Can Polak play anywhere if he's on the LTII?

agreed ... **** the Afl and get cuz.
Clearly the AFL doesnt and hasnt wanted Ben to play again. So much for the aussie spirit of fair go and giving a bloke a second chance.

Why on earth would he retire now. He still has a year to run on his contract.goes to show unless you get cancer - you aren't sick in the AFL's eyes
I think Polak will retire now
I'm curious about the politics (etc) involved here...
The AFL seems not to want him to play again.
if it was a collingwood player though...........
Well, this is the guy that made the AFL's drug policy look like a complete joke, and made the AFL themselves look like complete twats.
Spot on. AFL are f**king pansies.
Vlad probably made the decision in fear of an Eddie backlash....grow some balls FFS.

I'm about to cry........but....
Take Cousins with pick 6 and cross our fingers whoever we wanted with pick 6 is there in the rookie draft, elevate him, and it's like this never happened.
So only take 1 18 yr old and 1 19 yr old in an entire senior draft. Yeah good list management there cotchy.I'm about to cry........but....

I think the concern is that the kid in question will be picked up by another club before Richmond get a crack....
So Richmond now have to decide whether they risk losing a Gourdis or someone of that ilk if they choose Cousins. For mine this is a no brainer...
If part of this exercise was seeing the public reaction to a possible Cousins pick up then the overwhelming answer is that they should now take him with pick 6....
