current board member STEVE HARRIS.

Thanks for your efforts Rick. I'm sure he'll be around the club as a staunch supporter. We probably need a change though.

Does anyone know much about Steve Harris?

Not a surprise, he sort of hinted earlier in the year it was probably time.

Hopefully Rick keeps up the sponsorship and member deals.

Expecting some very polished Fremantle membership ads!

Rick has been a dead man walking since the end of the Connolly era, which will no doubt go down as one of our poorest player administrative times in our history. He needed to go. He precided over too many ****ups.

I really ****ing wish we would stop promoting people internally. CEO, coach, now president. Talk about group think.

Excellent (visualise Mr. Burns hand rub)... it's akin to Telstra's "three amigos" finally leaving...

We now have someone who can sell the club properly, and a diehard fan to boot.

All we have to do is run Stavros off and we're rid of the old dynasty.

Steve Harris personal bio (off Murdoch Uni Senate website):

Steve is the Managing Director of The Brand Agency.

He has senior level relationships throughout the Perth media industry, and an association with the senior marketing and management teams of most Perth based businesses with a heavy reliance on advertising.

His core skills include brand, advertising and marketing strategy, an understanding of the advertising and media industry and associated revenue and business issues, and management experience in a multi office business through Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining The Brand Agency in 1997, Steve had been a Director of Intoto (Clemenger Perth), Advertising & Marketing Manager for The Sunday Times, and a Director of ad agency Bowtell Clarke & Yole. He studied journalism and marketing at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University.

Steve is also the company secretary of The Brand Agency, a Director of the media buying agency Maxus Perth (a 50/50 joint venture between The Brand Agency and Mindshare – the world’s largest media buying agency), and a Director of the Sydney ad agency The Brand Shop (a joint venture between The Brand Agency, Melbourne based Badjar and the STW group). He is also the Patron of the Perth Advertising & Design Club, the peak body for the WA advertising and design industry.

He is 40 years old and lives in Applecross with his wife Angela, a psychologist & counsellor, and his two daughters, Lily 12, and Chloe 10.

It's a little outdated since he left a few years ago, but you get the gist of it...

In regard to the bio, it looks like he should have quite a bit of media contacts. Could come in handy for a bit of hiding dirt under the carpet if needed:D

Urrgghhhh...

Anyone that has been in a management level at Murdoch Uni in the last 10 years needs to have a bullet put in their stomach after being hit in the balls with a sledge hammer...

Incompetent ****s, the lot of them.

You do have a point but then we have a pretty new board so we are in effect getting fresher views post the Schwab\CC\Hart era. Budgie is going as well. O'Reilly is coming on baord so its not too bad.

It be nice to get an external high profile Chairman but i think they have struck out there :(

Harris I think has only been on the board for about 11mths.

Thank Christ we didn't get Ben Allan.

Uncle Rick has actually done some good things for the club and I'm always surprised when he gets a bad wrap on BF.

Perhaps you needed to have experienced Ross McLean to appreciate him.

This should not be an occasion worthy of backslapping and high fives. Collectively get that idea out of your heads right now. The man dragged our football club back from the brink of oblivion along with a few other distinguished servants of our club. Everybody should remember that and thank their lucky stars we were lucky enough to enjoy such fine service from him.

Congratulations on making an excellent contribution to our football club, Rick. All the best for the future and I hope that you can continue to contribute in some way to the cause.
