I think this is just the view of a supporter. The recruiting team would have so much information that they won't be speculating like any of us are.
Yep, we would have clear scenario's based on what West Coast/Richmond do.

TBH, I think it is easier for us than the Tigers. There will be less to chose from.

What confuses me most is why Cal had Cumming at 7 and Robey at 8, he kinda makes it sound like he’s the one that’s locked and he’s most unsure on Robey and Taylor for 8. I’ve been reading Richmond’s board the last couple weeks and from what I gather from their board is usually they never interview late on prospects unless they’re being told they’re drafted. They’ve been saying Robey isn’t someone they’ve put a lot of work in, and that maybe the data they’ve collected isn’t a big enough sample size.

They’ve always said that they don’t leak information to cal or anyone and they used the Bo Allan and Shanahan examples last year. It’s why I think Cal is very unsure and the only thing he’s mentioned about Cumming is you don’t go on a plane to see someone just to interview them late, it’s to tell them you’re drafting them.

I think it will either be Sully and Taylor or Sully and Cumming as the combo in my opinion. I would put money on it being Sully and Taylor, cause the other recruiters have been saying Richmond should take Sully and Taylor.
Everyone is guessing. Tigers have given very little away.
Cal has not nailed it as there is simply not a lot between they guys being looked at from 3 to 10 (minus academy players) and he has been consistent for 5 or 6 weeks now as far as this year is proving the hardest for a while as far as lining up the phantom draft.
The fact there is no real obvious A grade stars makes it hard to line them up.
Personally Robey would be my pick if I had 3 but I am not on Richmond's recruiting team.
It is good there is a bit of intrigue for a change.

Yeah us and Melbourne I think are easy to predict, whereas with Richmond you don’t even know one player they’re selecting.
Melb will wait and see who is left, the list manager with Cal Twomey discussed

Farrow & Nairn I guess expecting both to get past Richmond and Essendon, or more that other guys don;t i.e Cumming.

I'd say Robey and Cumming are the two that definitely won't get past both Richmond and EFC.

Both Sharp and Taylor still being there is unlikely, but one of them being there at Melbourne's pick is a chance since it sounds like Farrow is in the mix.

EFC could gamble that Melbourne won't take Sharp to try and grab him at Carlton's pick (assuming we do trade it in), but given they've lost both Petracca & Oliver and Viney is an old man I don't see why they'd pass on him if he was the only one of that cohort available.

Grlj seems to have dropped off the list a bit after being linked to Richmond for a long time.

I honestly would hate to be a draft recruiter in our position, how do you even select 2 players in our spot. Like any combination you go with is quality but you always have in the back of your mind did I go with the right pick.

Its interesting do you go for talent and upside or culture setters and dawgs, it would make sense if you went the Taylor and Sharp route, then next year if we do finish in a low position, you just go best available and hope they’re A grade talent.
If they have doubts in the back of their mind then they can not really be in the job. They know you never get them all right but they have to back themselves.

Cals late mail phantom draft dropped. Same as yesterday as far as I can tell.

He doesn’t seem confident this year, which keeps things interesting I guess

I wonder who Dodoro would take in this draft.

Most likely to draft:
  • Sharp. Clean skin, private school boy
  • Lindsay. Same as the above + Vic country which he prefers over interstate.

Least likely to draft:
- X Taylor. Didn't go to private school, has tattoos, doesn't take himself too seriously.

Lindsay is a good kick though. Couldn't see Dodo taking him.
