usually within a month of the GF

I thought it was released around the first week of November, so about your time frame Mad Dog.

They would be doing the first or second draft now with the clubs.

Hang on, don't forget the Gold Coast and I would say it might be your turn to go to Darwin as well.

I have no doubt that we will play Collingwood at the MCG this year. We always play them twice a year because we're both so high drawing. I can understand why this year was at TD (Comm Games) but I have no idea why 2005 was. These are my predictions:

12 x AAMI (11 home, 1 away Showdown)
3 x TD
2 x Subi
1 x MCG (even though we're due for more than one!!!)
1 x SS
1 x Marara
1 x SCG
1 x Launceston/Canberra...also include Gold Coast if they are playing there this season, but I don't think they are.

We'll play Brissie at home, will play both Perth teams twice and get screwed over with only one game at the MCG for the fourth year in a row. Round 22 in Melbourne is my prediction.

I believe Round 22 should be scheduled the same as rivalry round. That way the only team that travel would be one of Brisbane or Sydney. All the Vic teams stay in Vic, with a Showdown and a Derby.

We played both wc and freo in perth this year, so wouldn't next year we'd only play there once? Port only played there once this year, so it's their turn to go twice.

Oh no, I think not. You wanted the game up in Darwin, now live with it.
No good telling me, I don't do the draw. I was the first to tell you people last year you were going to Carrara at the Gold Coast and you all laughed at me.

People from S.A and W.A have to realise we get shafted each year, because the clubs of Brisbane and I think Sydney have to play atleast 6 games a year in Melbourne. Brisbane have it written in there merger conditions with Fitzroy, and I think Sydney have something similar with its South Melbourne past.

The crows are highly likely to be playing in Perth twice next year because the 3 sides finished in the top 4 so will probably play each other twice.

Exactly. We're all 'hot' teams likely to be playing in what would be considered 'blockbusters' on 2006 form.
It's not about who's turn it is, it's about what would make good match-ups. It's why Collingwood always play us, Carlton and Essendon twice every year.

I thought they took the ladder at round 15. In which case, an away game against Fremantle is no certainty.

They used to go by the R15 ladder.

This year they will be using some new software, which does it all automatically - including factoring in all the usual requests/requirements which distort the draw.

This year, they will be doing it using the ladder as at R22.

It will be interesting to see how things work out. I have often criticised Sydney for having a soft draw this year, but they did play 4 teams which made the finals in 2005 - only problem is that they were the teams which finished 5-8 on the ladder.
