knights has copped way too much hype imo.
Too much hype based on what exactly? He’s only 19 and has already secured his spot in one of the most talented and deepest midfields in the league. This time last year he was playing for Woodville West Torrens reserves side and now he’s going to play come round 1. He’s a massive ball magnet, averaged over 20 possessions per game in the SANFL last season as a 19 year old. Too much hype, I don’t think so…

for a player that is yet to show what he can do at AFL level it is a lot of hype. I do rate him, but the hype in this thread on him has been a bit over the top for a 3 game player.

Would appreciate some comments on my team

Hodge (overpriced? but will be top 5 im sure)
McLeod
Maguire
Miller
Brennan
Hudghton
Dempster (played a fair bit last year, but a risk?)

Haddrill
Dowler

Dal Santo (are mitchell, coughlan etc better options)
S.Thompson (some may disagree but goes under the radar with riccuito, mcleod, edwards, good preseason, dominated second half last year)
Cooney (worth the shot?, players in similar range are s.black, n stevens, hird, or do i downgrade and upgrade elsewhere)
Reilly

Knights
Murphy

Everitt (Like Hodge, overpriced but top 5 i think, ?)
Mooney (is there too much hype, ?)
Brogan
Fraser

Mitch Clark
Ryder

Akermanis
Riewoldt
J.Brown
S.Johnson (risk v return scenario, perhaps injury prone but big upside)
Pickett
D.Motlop
J.Gibson (Huge risk i know, but awesome preseason and allows me to have that one extra top liner, eg is it better to go aker and gibson, or to mid rangers, eg Guerra and Dixon)

Bate
D.Thomas

Also are there any injury problems i have overlooked that may affect round 1 in particular of any of these players, eg brogan, not sure?

Very differnt team compared to other teams posted. You have wasted too much on your backs and rucks. Downgrade from both positions and upgrade your forwards.
I just ran the price numbers for each area and I agree. How about:

ND. Brown for K McGregor up back, then Ken McGregor for Paul Chpman in the forward line

Then Dean Cox for Jeff White in the Ruck for Lance Franklin for Rocca/Tarrant/O'Loughlin?

My aim is to win my league. So with my centres I am trying to pick players that after round 3 will increase alot in cash when the prices change. Will this centre line increase in value?

Simon Goodwin
Brett Deledio
Colin Sylvia
Michael Rischitelli

Thanks

does anyone know how to get the full list of players (all teams) and their average points for last year ? or even better with 2003 and 2004 average as well...

or just list of players so i can put them into excel and input each of the players point week after week (which honestly i reckon not a good idea at all)...

I think you should still pick at least 1 or 2 that you plan to keep for the whole season (injuries allowing). Using 6 trades just to increase your team's value isn't a great strategy IMO. Knights and Murphy are both going to go up alot in value and can easily picked as emergencies.

Others that will probably go up in value are Salopek, Slattery, Rodan, Gram, etc.

some quick questions:

hodge and everitt will be top 10 in DT, but are they worth it?

is cooney a good pick?

thoughts on scott thompson, could continue where he left off last year

has cam mooney had too much hype?

is fixter worth a spot on the bench?

cheers

Simon Black is $1k less. If I had to choose I'd chose Black. I don't think Cooney has done enough yet to justify $323K but then I've never had him in previous years.

sounds pretty good. goodwin would be doubtful to go up, as he is pretty high already, but a ball magnet. Sylvia is great value too :thumbsu:

Thoughts on Ben Johnson?
Waters and Rodan in starting 22 - good/bad?
Waters will play, banfield is injured, perfect replacement.

I think my team will look something like this come Thursday night. Any ideas?
Little bit concerned about 4th centre, but all 3 should be getting a game every week.

Oh yes, and I have $5300 left, any ideas on some upgrades I could make? I think I'm about $4000 off turning Judd into Goodwin.

Cats_fan, if they are the same price, then Ladson or Deledio I would think.
