It is if there is a player who will average almost the same and will cost 220k. The only real answer is that Simmonds should have been in from the start, but it is a bit late now to change that. It is not too late to fix it. One thing is for sure, if anyone is contemplating the Hamish-Simmo trade it is now or never. Not one you can wait a week or two on, and whatever decision you make by lockout this week is one made for the entire year.
Yep, if you assume that the points difference will be minimal, then it's simply a question of whether spending a trade is worth the 112k you'll earn from it. Personally I'm gonna keep Hamish, I think he should outscore Simmonds (though not by as much as I first expected), plus it gives me another reason to watch the Roos in action :):thumbsu:.

I've heard people are talking about trading Hamish McIntosh to Troy Simmonds, I wouldn't even consider that trade because Troy is far more injury prone, is older, McIntosh is hitting his straps right about now so next week I'd expect 90+ if they're not playing West Coast / Geelong and I could guarentee you he'll average more than Simmonds by the end of the year...
But if you wanna do the trade, go ahead, but if Simmo gets injured, which is likely, there is another trade that gets flushed down the toilet, so yeah, I'm KB, and that's my take..:D

To be perfectly frank, those were both pretty horrible choices.

Well not really, just hate going the same as evryone else..try to have an edge..and as you can see Embley can easily score hundreds...and last year Sjohnson scored them with ease...they demolished bombers which i knew they would and he scores 1 goal...and plays deep...he never played deep last year..and to be honest his 412 price range is now turning out to be a joke...easily my worst pick up of the season!

I feel your pain. I had cross as captain last week 83 (then gets a 139 this week), then switched to JB who got 66 (and managed 93 last)!
I think from now on im going to stick with the big Cox. 1841 for me this week, the late withdrawal from hansen let me down, for some stupid reason i forgot to name an emergency.

What do with Nathan Brown (Richmond)...

Has had 2 poor games. used to be the king of fantasy footy in the mould of BJ, but doesn't seem to playing in the midfield much by his possie count.

Am thinking of downgrading him to Hill and upgrading a dud backman - the rest of my forwards are goin fine...

Yeah, fair enough. Embley is one of those players who can absolutely gun it, or have one of those weeks, Stevie J is a bit the same, though not nearly as erratic. I had a flutter on Stevie for last year's Norm Smith, put $300 in my pocket :):thumbsu:, certainly a good player, but I don't think either of them are captaincy material. Keep in mind also that a lot of the time we go with the same old same old for a reason, hard to get an edge on guys who had Cox or Cross as their captains this week.

Seems as those who scored poorly last week did well this week and vice versa.

Round 3 will be interesting...
I think that alot of speculative mid-ranged players performed well last week, but average this week. Prime example would be Nicoski or Dew.
Whilst safer, or rather value mid-ranged players performed better this week. Prime example would be Mattner and Symes.

What I'm trying to say is that in the grand scheme of things, not many players had consistently high scores (90+), with players such as Hall, Deledio, Bowden, Cornes, Brown, Cloke, Stanton, Houli, Dyson, Nicoski, Dew very much Yo-Yo'ing over the two weeks.

How is everybody going with their combined scores for week 1 and week 2? So far im up to 3676 after 1 poor score of 1738 and 1 decent score of 1938. Still had a fair few players in the 60s who I'm thinking should be scoring a bit better so definately room for improvement. Would it be fair to expect that the top few teams would be arouind the 4100 mark?

Brown hasn't been the same player since he had that horrific leg injury few years back

my guess is that 4100 would be the top score
those who did well last week would have had players such as dew and thompson who performed well last week, but not this week.
similarly, a lot of players did well this week, but had shockers last week.
will be very interesting to see the top score...just how many people have knocked up 2000 in both weeks
im 3802 from 2 rounds, so im hoping for top 2000

You thinking of shipping off Cloke..? Did he sustain an injury from Friday night's game Thunder..?

i'd probably sit tight on your rucks, unless you have a lot of money spare, or are willing to settle for having simmonds in your side all season.

hows the rest of your team shaping up? there may be other areas of more concern.
Thanks for the reply dude, forwards are fine, midfield is fine (despite Houli but might stay with him), Wood is the only concern in ruck as Cox is a gun, and defence seems steady at best, Nicoski let me down with 27....I might not have a choice and might have to just trade Hansen to Taylor, or just wait till the teams come out thursday before making any silly trades.

Cheers.

Rolled his ankle. From memory he had 49 points at half time, and scored 2 in the second half. He was on before the game last night, said he'd definitely be right for next week, certainly wouldn't be getting rid of him at this stage.

who are your 9 backs? that will give me a better picture of where you sit.
hansen to taylor would be another bad trade imo. hansen will play soon enough, and taylor might be dropped in 2 weeks anyway. if your playing 1 man down, its a matter of choosing between that, or having limited trades come end of the season. sometimes you just have to weather the storm, and not trade.
