Hot diggity Damn,
3 years just about since I last did an AFL story. geez time moves.
Hello lads and lasses, glad to be back around these parts again.
Going to be doing something a little different with this story.
I'll be adding media to the mix of text through YouTube.
I've been dabbling a little bit on this side of things recently and figured the more I do it, the better I should get at it.
Well, in theory anyways.
Enough of that though, lets get primed for some footy action.

It’s the 2020 season and time for another coach career story.
AFL Evolution 2 is our platform of choice.
Letting the AI play against each other also removes the ability to adjust tactics and change positions during the game. I was hoping coach mode, would be just that. but, it seems if you have no controller assigned to the team you can't do anything. If you have a controller assigned, you're forced to play without solely being the coach as the mode implies.
Unless I'm missing something...….
Already forced with a decision I wasn't expecting to make. I have decided to allow the AI to do its thing during the match and I will work the back office.
I think my playing would impact the actual results and make the side far better or worse than they would be normally. It will be a test to see how well Wicked Witch did with the AI and player position and interchanges. Also how it deals with the positions assigned to the players in the game.
Not crossing my fingers on this though. If you'd played this game already you would know the fundamentals of the game aren't very well portrayed.
Moving On...…...
So, who do we play for?
Well, I like a challenge, so It’s a no brainer. We’re going to go with the Gold Coast Suns and try and take the cellar dwellers of 2019 to a premiership. No idea how long this will take, or if I can even satisfy the requirements to keep my job as head coach. but, hey. That’s half the battle.
Let’s quickly recap on the Suns 2019 season.
3 wins, 19 losses and a percentage of just 60.5
Their worst season since their debut in 2011, having an equal win-loss tally but a percentage of just 56.3.
The 2012 season was marginally better, equal again in terms of win-loss ratio, with a percentage of 60.8.
The club has almost gone full circle, In their 9 years with the competition thus far.
The Suns picked up their 3 wins in consecutive rounds early in 2019. They defeated Fremantle by 3 points (Round 2), the Bulldogs by 5 points (Round 3) and Carlton by 2 points (Round 4).
2 of their losses came by just 1 point, St Kilda in round 1 and Melbourne in round 8.
Their average losing margin for the year was 46 points, a touch over 7 goals. Blown out by big losses to the likes of Adelaide (73) and (95), GWS Giants (83) and (72), Richmond (92), Collingwood (69), Brisbane (91) and Hawthorn (70).
Discounting those losses, the margin drops back to 22 points, almost 4 goals and much more respectable.
The challenge will be to reduce the blowout margins against the sides just mentioned and find those 4 goals needed to get across the line in closer games.
Get cozy and join me on another coaching journey
Cheers
Shannon.
