Only for AFL games, where the bar is very low. I'd have more enthusiasm and praise for say PES 19, if we're talking about sporting games in general.

It wasn’t perfect but the gameplay was much smoother then any AFL game WW have produced.

Having played both recently, Live 1 is still way ahead of Evolution gameplay wise. Evolution's gameplay still resembled Live 2 in a lot of ways, making it a very clunky, clumsy mess. They introduced artificial difficulty through sloppy, unintuitive control mechanisms and AI that clamped itself to your players.

I think Evolution is a better representation of modern footy than it gets credit for. Live 1 might more closely resemble the 70s.

Modern footy is sloppy, contested, and tackle heavy with big packs.

Yeah love 1 was allot more open then modern footy. But that could have easily been fixed by having players crowd the ball more and giving players with ball more evasion options and making tackling and winning the balm of the ground a little less easier and removing the speed boost chasers get.

Evolution has some of this it’s just the engine is so clunky you can’t enjoy these things anyways.

I would have to agree with you the balance of the gameplay 'seemed' far better but then are we just looking at through nostalgia? Should they use that engine and add loads of extras? I'm not a games developer and neither an expert so if not practical don't jump at me but if it sin't broke... ?

On the other hand off the ball AI was better in Live 1 and the man-on-man footy in Evo is very similar to 70s footy

Agree, but an important skill in Evo is learning to play off the ball. Taking control of players when not in possession and setting up for the loose man to run and break the line. I don't mind it. Get that 3 - 2 going at the contest and explode through the corridor. Great with online play.

I've only uploaded some average/poor creations of the 2019 PAFC draft crop on the fanhub thing. 04 side wasn't me.

04 Port side has a lot of incomplete players. IIRC even Dew, a first 22 player, didn't have his stats done. Everything was at 50.

Was playing a career match against North in Tassie. Goldstein pinged Mitchell holding the ball pretty much the second he grabbed the ball after a centre bounce, and torped a goal from right in the middle of the ground

I am having constant trouble with the DLC Pack.

Ever since I have got it, I have trouble getting into games because of something called a "CE-34878-0" error.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens a hell of a lot, either when it shows the captains for the match, or after playing the game (the loading screens).

It ONLY seems to happen with "AFL Evolution" and no other game. Every other game works fine, and I never get the error when I play any of them. It happens solely for "AFL Evolution" and started after downloading the 2018 DLC pack.

I'm thinking of maybe purchasing the game with the 2018 season already in it. Can I do this, and still use my save file, since I am 5 weeks into a season, and have uploaded it all?

AFL games seem to have problems with them. The ones I had on PS2 froze mid-match, and I would have to play the entire match again (sometimes I hadn't even touched the controls). On "AFL Live" on PS3, it would sometimes freeze as well, and now it doesn't freeze on AFL Ev, but I constantly get the error which won't let me into the game.

It isn't an update or problem like that (I check those all the time). I have tried everything, but I don't want to initilaze the PS4, as it might wipe the save content of my other games.

I blame the AFL 2018 DLC PATCH itself, and the imcompetent people who made it. Hopefully, next game, it will be fixed.
