Almost gave up a 41 point lead in the 3rd quarter, was playing as West Coast and Nic Nat was taken out of the ruck for some reason and I held on to win by 6.

Im editing a roster to draw out differences. Like every sports game, they are too similar. Im focusing on reducing marking across the board, tagging (hopefully creating less 1 on 1s), endurance and kicking ability. I played a game last night and it felt good not being able to chase down blokes with Swallow or Goldstein, and seeing Sam Gibson put it on the full. Ill play against the AI later tonight.

I see some good core mechanics in place. As an absolute priority, modern tactics must be included. It is not a 1 on 1 sport anymore. Let us play 1-3 loose men, let us bring our forwards up to the wing and get goals over the back etc. This would be huge.

I 100% agree it would be huge, but in the sense that it would be a huge effort.

AFL is a very complex game, with a mix of fluidity and congestion. Balancing all of that, making it possible to defend and open up spaces on a field so large that it doesn't all fit into your TV screen, this is all very tough.

And, it's not as if you should perfectly reflect an AFL game because a real AFL game takes 120 minutes to play, whereas a video game should only take ~20.

WW has no doubt taken the much easier approach of just making it a 1 on 1 game across the board. It's much easier to balance the game in this way, although they have seemingly still come up short with respect to marking and goal kicking.

Yeah they have to take it to the next level in terms of camera work. One idea comes straight from the TV broadcast. Zoomed in on the contest, before zooming out. I wonder if it would be easy on the eyes.

This sounds great. Like NBA 2K with sliders and adjustments, it makes a huge difference to the way a game plays. Its far too fast at the moment and too one on one. If they could patch it so the game was slowed a bit and players could get free more then a lot of what needs adjusting would be done. Then it would be some minor tweaks to player attributes. Well thats my view anyways.

As much as I'm somewhat enjoying this game and will get decent time out of it, there's no way you can tell me this was ready for release. The constant gaffs from the commentary and just the flow of the play alone.

Took me a couple of games to realise i was trying to mark it wrong. As soon as I kick the ball I now start holding triangle and let it go as soon it it hits the shaded circle

Somebody else has mentioned this, but I've also experienced the glitch where you finish the game, but it keeps making you restart the 4th quarter. I have a theory on what causes it though. Every time I got this glitch was during a match where I was reported and after the game received an actual suspension. When I didn't get weeks of suspension the game was fine. Can anybody else who's experienced this glitch confirm that they got suspended during the game.

I've also experienced an incredibly bad glitch that Wicked Witch need to fix IMMEDIATELY. I've been playing Be a Pro in the TAC Cup and got suspended in Round 17 for two weeks, which meant I was suspended for the final round. Every time I click advance for Round 18 the game crashes. I get sent to a blue screen with an error code and I have to reboot the game. I tried to advance past this game 7 or 8 times but it always crashed. I can only assume this is another problem caused by my player being suspended. This is pathetic and inexcusable. I have to throw away that save file now because it's completely useless.

The AI's awful kicking for goal is also incredibly annoying. If it wasn't for that and the two awful glitches I've experienced I'd be loving this game as it's a million times better than the garbage that was AFL Live 2.

Done two kicks for goal off the ground. First with the A button and now with the X button and neither unlocked the achievement.

For some reason, Wicked Witch refers to dribble kicks as "grubbers". You need to hold L2 and tap Circle to do a dribble kick to get that achievement.

Yep. It seems to be when a suspension is coming.

Heard some positives and a lot of negatives but I'm enjoying it despite it being frustrating in some aspects.

Had a big multiplayer session with 3 mates yesterday, playing 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and even 4 v CPU, was a load of fun. Playing against another person is a lot more fun than the CPU. And playing with 4 people on the same team was chaos. When we got on the run and spread it was good but there was a lot of front running and the CPU exposed us going the other way.

Marking is difficult but once you get the hang of it I don't think it's too bad. Very glad you can't just come in and dominate the game after 10 minutes, making practice and skill a part of the game is wonderful.

Commentary is laughably bad. Like literally laughing at some of it. "Handballs to.. the running man" what is a running man and why are the commentators saying it 20 times a game? Players names all wrong, Richo sounds suicidal, but it's got that so bad that it's good vibe.

Love that you can handball and link up in a chain, big tick there.

Got some bad things, got some good things. But really enjoying it. Anyone on PS4 that wants to give me a game hit me up.

Whoever keeps saying to put youself back on the field after being benched... you can't. We are talking about Be a Pro career mode. You can't change team line up or even team tactics.

Have noticed a shite tonne more bugs that I'll be posting later. Nothing completely game breaking but certainly annoying and some very obvious stuff that really should have been picked up in testing.

I just pulled an Eddie Betts with Michael Walters, after dodging a tackle and slotting a banana kick from the boundary.

Things like that make the game so sweet sometimes.

Could go on all day about what is bad about it, but the most annoying bit by far is when you get a free and then if it spills to you it's always advantage and then you get done for holding the ball, doesn't matter if you're half being tackled by 8 blokes, it's advantage and you get done, also a serious flaw with marking (obviously right?) where the better player almost always gets the mark, was playing saints v hawks and longer v mcevoy in a marking contest was interrupted with Hodge coming from the clouds running back with the flight and basically snatching it out of my hands.

Special mention to the soundtrack, I actually preferred the AFL Live soundtrack, and that was the worst thing I'd ever endured at the time, until now.

Needless to say I don't have the game anymore.

That's been a problem since the Wii game, would have thought they'd have fixed it by now.

It's the little things like these that build up and make AFL games frustrating to play.

I'd echo that the AI is ridiculously good at nailing contested marks but that may be down to my ineptness

Got belted by about 60 in the last.

Does anybody have difficulty tackling online? The opponent was just streaming by and i couldnt do anything. Layed about 2 tackles for the whole match

Playing with kick assist off is my jam. Feel really in control of where the kick is going. Can kick players into a lead instead of kicking it to where they are.

How do you get banana kicks to work from general play? I know it's supposed to be L2 and Circle when near the boundary, but every time I try it near the boundary my player just ends up torping it.

When I figure the marking out, I'll like the game more.

I can't handle the holding the ball calls as soon as you get tackled.

60 metre trophy. I kicked it 65 apparently. Went through. No pop.

Also the 50 tackles trophy. Is that for one player or the team?
