EB guys in Mornington were loosing their shit , around 25 people all in the Store to get AFL and every single one asked for price match. Even some of the older people coming to collect game had no idea of another price but heard the person getting served ask for the price match and followed suit. The staff reaction was priceless

It kind of seems like footy from several decades back in this style, but I'll wait to give it a play in a day or so to make a proper comment.

The commentators literally just say any name from the team that has the ball. Hannebery has been referred to as Grundy about five times now, while Franklin was called Hewett.

The advantage system after a free kick is fked too. If the ball is loose when you win a free kick, it's automatically advantage if you pick it up, no matter the situation (ie it's advantage if you pick it up with an opponent hot on your hammer). It only goes back to the person who received the free kick if the opposition are first to the ball.

It feels like there's at least 6 Papleys playing for the swans. Parker is straight up referred to as papley every time he touches it

Should I play it safe and get it from EB games for the 7 day refund policy or should I be right to get it at the closest store selling it? Already called and they have stock and its cheaper than jb anyway but no refund policy for change of mind

Also, why do the umpires say "that's a mark!" when a player marks it?

That doesn't happen in real life.

Also, the groans the players make when they get tackled is laughably bad.

Is it just me or is the ball spinning the wrong way...man thats going to piss me off big time.

Might just be the angle or the quality.

Most of the replays I have seen the ball is spinning correctly.

Seems promising. I'm actually glad people are struggling with the basics like marking and kicking goals on the run. I don't want everyone to have mastered it after a couple of hours. Although I never did master marking in AFL Live 1 so there is that side to it.

Things like commentary glitches seem like easy fixes in a patch. Make sure the audio file matches the player name. Done.

Looking forward to more in-depth impressions.

Can you actually run with the ball in this game through the middle ? Live 2 for me was a case of just spamming the kick button in the middle so that you could get rid of the ball immediately before being tackled.

I'd love an answer to this too, although I was able to run more in Live 2 than Live 1. Live 1 was the tacklefest.

Yes you can, even the opposition do it too

If you accidentally hit 'play on' when you take a mark, you get tackled almost straight away, and give away a free kick for 'throwing the ball'. Pretty annoying.

Half the lines are just ripped from the first game. "The umpire holds the ball aloft", "Ruckmen waiting for the bounce" I can both vividly remember being the exact same lines and delivery in AFL Live 1.

Would it seriously be too much of an ask to get some decent commentary? Just give them some gameplay or real AFL footage and record them reacting naturally to it, instead of having them reading off obvious scripts with lame jokes.

Also, there are times where Richo's commentary sounds completely different to Dennis'. The sound mix sounds way out at times.
