In career mode, when I get taken out for being fatigued, will the coach actually bring me back in if I watch the game, or do I just keep simming?

I totally expected the sim option to just be sim until the player is back into the game.

Online is weird. My opponent had the ball inside their 50 and was pushing towards the goals and then all of a sudden the game flipped to my ruckman with the ball possession running through the centre corridor.

That's called lag dude.

But I wasn't even pressing any buttons. How did my player magically get the ball and end up halfway across the ground ?

Yeah they do but I wouldn't even bother. You spend as much time watching as playing.

Bought it this afternoon, having a few issues with this game, didn't play AFL Live 2 so maybe that's where my issues are.

- Every contested mark I've taken has been an accident.
- Marking in general seems too hard, and AI just takes far too many speckies.
- Getting out of defensive 50 is way too difficult.
- The advantage rule seems to be broken and just happens automatically when you don't want it to.
- AI seems to miss a lot of easy shots, even in the goal square.
- There's no umpire voice-over for "not 15, play on" so I've been hit a few times because of that.
- 50 metre penalties seems to be broken too. AI can run through marks or near marks, but you can't.
- Richo's voice-over might be one of the worst of any game I've played.

But I'll keep going, might be funner when I've got the hang of the controls.

Kick ins are horrendous. You cannot find an open man from the kick in. Also just field kicking is a bit of a lottery. Players don't lead into space. it's just kick to a 1 on 1.

so you cant chip it around to protect a lead?

After one game and a bit of time learning in free roam I really like it

Feels fast and fluid and plays like footy

Marking has a bit of a learning curve but feels pretty good once you start to learn it

Why do freo and west coast have those shitty songs (is this fixed in the patch ?)

First game I played, crows vs Coburg. Got up for an inspired 5 goal win

Started a career, replaced Melbourne with the SA legends team, kicked the first goal with a beautiful chain of handballs, bulldogs then kick the next 23 goals to rout me

I can't mark for shit!! Commentary annoying me already. Gameplay is reasonable

I really suggest changing your camera to end to end.

Makes a huge difference, allows me to kick to a players advantage or hit them on the lead.

Look I don't mind it, pretty challenging just in general and because of a few issues but I'll play it flat out until I become good. Started a career mode as coach and am 4 rounds in and have lost all 7 games (regular season + JLT). Doesn't mean a lot but the realism of the players and grounds are pretty good. Commentary sucks but don't really care about that

Its been alright so far but just a few things ive noticed in the short time ive been playing

- Stoppages, center bounces and pretty much any contested situation are an absolute clusterf*ck.
- Time with the ball: Leading on from the last point, If you have a player within at least 5 meters of you at a stoppage or in contested situations then you have approximately 0.01 seconds of getting rid of it or your getting tackled.
- Umps need fixing. Way too many frees given out. If you get tackled, 9 times out of 10 youll be done for either HTB or throwing it. I also had a glitch online where i got a free in my backline, got a 50 meter penalty and ended up in the goal square. Was amazing for me but those are the bugs that could cost games.
- The speed of the game, not sure how to explain it but it feels like everything is sped up 2x.
- I havent looked into the soundtrack at all but so far i havent heard more than 2 different songs

Some positives:
- You can tell they have tried to fix the whole tacklefest thing. Run down tackles ive found to be much harder to do now. It still is problem around stoppages though
- Ball movement chains at times can bd really good
- Graphics are IMO a massive step up from before.

I was beating my mate so I stopped attempting marks to get him some goals, and even with him trying to mark and me not touching the controller, I was still marking the ball.
