Is anyone else having trouble with incredibly slow download speeds to download the first update?

Nup. I put my disc in when I got home from work, took the dog for a 25 minute walk and when I got back it was installed and updated.

You people are never happy, seriously the game is not that bad, yes it has some bugs and problems but they can be fixed via a patch (hence why im not starting a career just yet). It most definitely is the best AFL game we have had to date and by far the smoothest as well, just appreciate the game for what it is and enjoy it like its meant to be enjoyed or go back to playing your old AFL games and STFU about it. As has been said time and time you cant expect FIFA and NBA 2k quality due to the different sizes of studios, not to mention that AFL is a very hard game to emulate in a game due to the many variations, just be thankful that we have something new to play which will improve over time with more work (patches). If you hate the game so much take it back, get a refund and leave the thread, too many people clogging the thread with nonsense.

I was expecting a bit more, but then again the writing was on the wall with it's "balance sheet" budgeting. That's why Wicked Witch was chosen as an alternative developer.

The player switching is horrible. It doesn't select the closest to the ball, so you time your mark with the player you think you are only to find out its selected the player 10 meters away. You can never actually switch to the player you want, why can't I use the right stick to point to which player I want instead of the game randomly, and wrongly choosing for me? There is a good second delay before it actually changes the player after pressing the button.

I found changing the player switching to manual helped a lot with this. I play on the side camera tho so I don't have the confusion of the camera swinging around. In saying that it does bring up the issue of adapting to the AI running path of the player when you do switch to him (if that makes sense). I think Live 1 had the same issue although I remember it being a lot more annoying in that game.

Does anyone have the issue of their player overrunning the ball? I find sometimes my player just won't collect it even though I'm running pretty much over it.

I also feel chasing in this game is really annoying. It doesn't matter who you're controlling they all seem to have the same speed, or maybe the player with the ball is just supposed to be faster. Wonder if that's intentional to try and not make it a tackle fest.

Edit- now I'm starting to think that Preuss footage was more reflective of how this game plays than we thought...

The game is fine. Took a steep learning curve with the new controls but once you progress from easy to hard it's actually pretty enjoyable. Be a pro mode seems fun. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is I can't edit the player stats on the hub after I select no to make a player copy. I only played around with it for 2 mins because the game wasn't updated. Am I doing something wrong?

So when they say online co-op, they mean local co-op where the 2 3 or 4 people on your local machine can go online.

Not online co-op in the sense I chan play cooperatively with my friend over the net.

Bear in mind that the supposed Everest of AFL games, Big Ant's AFL Live (1), received a 6/10 IGN review and a 6.5/10 Gamespot review. Will be interesting to see if the same companies also cover this game.

Haven't tried it but Im pretty sure the online section allows you to host matches and send invites to your friends?

"Censored" will happen on any games with UGC if you have any controllers connected without each and EVERY one of them being logged in. Have one controller in and make sure it is logged into a PSN account.

This is standard Sony PlayStation behaviour.

They're already into their 8th year, I think they've had plenty of time.

Maybe it's a blessing that PC version is later, looks like the game has a lot of bugs that should have been caught.

Good thing about the PC version is that patches for it can be rolled out much faster than consoles.
