Positioning is the big key. At first I found myself just simply pressing/holding the mark button down but its no good if the opposition is in better position. You need to train yourself to move your player into front position. Timing then isn't so important. I have taken marks with the late indicator quit often. If you have more than one player there, use bump. Bump your opposition out of the way and in most cases I've found my team mate will mark the ball.

The way I learned is by simply not spoiling anything. Go for marks 100% of the time and you will quickly pick up where to be, when to bump, when to mark etc. I did this online as most people still don't know how to mark either and if I did **** up it wasn't too bad.

I was struggling like you until I listened to the advice of a few people on here who said to just press the button before the circle turns solid rather than holding the button. Instead of the opposition doubling my marks, the difference is now about 5 marks between the opposition and me.

yeah just tap the mark button just fractionally before the 2 circles meet

once you have mastered that, then start trying to get the front position

once you have mastered that, then try mastering the bump button

its a process that will eventually lead to good results, but it will take time, tapping triangle i found is the key instead of this hold and release rubbish
