This NEEDS one thing.

Team selection to not be a list. 2006 and both Live games had lists. Place the players on the field so we can visually see simply where each player is playing amd who they are playing on.
I'm actually not even sure I could find a less useful or relevant feature if I tried.

What this game really NEEDS is the ability to change the colour of mouthguards.....

What he posted is something I and many other prospective buyers of this game would be hoping for. List view for teams sucked in AFL Live and Live 2.

Sure it would be nice, but I would not describe it as "the one thing this game needs"

The ONE thing this game needs is realistic, adjustable and dynamic gameplay. The rest is just people getting carried away with nonsense

All the nonsense adds up to become a really nice, polished overall product. They started the game at least 2 years ago so it should happen. And the AFL are behind it more then past games. I know someone will say I am making stuff up but anyone with any sense will realise that this game has been backed by the AFL more then previously. That could be why WW are taking so long to get it accepted by the AFL because they are sending WW back all the time to do little fixes here and there. Either that or the AFL have looked at the gameplay and told WW its not up to par and they need to do a massive gameplay uplift. That could take months and would explain why all of a sudden WW have stopped releasing player renders for the time being.

AFL greenlighted AFL Live 2, so i wouldn't imagine the set-backs are quality related. No doubt they are more behind this game, but the delays would be more related to sponsors, rules and all that which are still changing or are expected to change. AFL is probably one of the hardest sports to make a game out of, so they'd be concentrating (well you'd hope) on getting the gameplay and dynamics right. Wouldn't be surprised if the menu interfaces, team lineups and all that were close to how Live 2 looked

Sure it's not the 'one thing' this game needs but the gameplay being priority is a given and has been stated time and time again.

Having the lineup laid out on a field is a basic inclusion that this game should have

Don't see how that's relevant.
It would be relevant, since the AFL would be forcing the developers to go back and remove all references to the TAC as sponsors for Geelong. I imagine that a realistic experience was the goal, which entails accurate sponsor placement. They may also be forced to wait until a replacement is announced by the club, and then create appropriate graphics and place them accordingly. I imagine bigger game developers would be able to efficiently patch a simple graphical thing as this, however their previous mention of "create a jumper" containing logistical issues within the game leads me to believe that such a patch is not possible (or, at least viable), thus requiring a delay.

There's no match day involvement by TAC in real life and I highly doubt that this game will have customised sponsors for each team (on the fence and screen).

The near absolute silence from everyone involved over the last week or two has me a bit worried

Clearly working to a deadline isn't the AFLs greatest strength (if the game gets delayed because their approvals are slowing it down then that's just crap)

I guess at the end of the day, AFL Evolution is not the AFL's no. 1 focus. The AFL staff would be busier than ever this preseason with the inclusion of the AFLW, on top of all the sponsorship issues with BLK going bankrupt, etc. And then maybe even rule interpretations surrounding the no third man up and the bounce are still waiting to be finalised. If women are in the game, I will be surprised if they are not given the photo leak and AFLW success, that would also drag out the process for rating the women players as well as the style of games that pan out.

Just had a thought, wouldn't goal technology be good in the game. That would mean a 12 minute match option could drag out to be 20 minutes.
