It's almost certainly just poor animation.

100%, pretty sure Gary Ablett was kicking a "drop-kick" in the AFL Live 1 trailer as well.

First part of the trailer had me a bit worried but than all of a sudden it really improved (maybe just a better selection of highlights) and looks pretty good to me.

A couple of things I've noticed

-Dynamic lighting and day/night transition might be confirmed (There's at least more than 3 different times of day and the Brisbane V Richmond screenshot we saw had the sun setting and in the trailer it's night)

-The few wet weather shots look pretty good. Players actually look like their soaking wet in the downpour

- Domain Stadium has inflatable anchors on the roof (an awesome little attention to detail touch)

I still love that head high tackle, I actually "ooohhh" when I saw it like it hurt (which I know is stupid but still)

The Gabba has the building viewable, I saw a Gatorade bottle on the ground and the grass looks great.

If this game has Brion the lion in it I'm sold

Better than expected, it's mostly replay footage so hard to actually tell how the game plays, but they did well hiding the game play among canned animation.
The shot below and the Eddie Betts evade aren't great footage for demonstrating the A.I. (Granted Eddie makes everyone look stupid). Look at the direction everyone's running in... it's as if the Brisbane player is holding a bomb!

But it does remind me of AFL Live 1... and I loved that.

Tayla Harris looks pretty good. Not too bad in the game either.

Only gripe is with Adelaide Oval itself. The roofs aren't see through at the actual ground and there is literally not one person on the hill*.






*Inb4 hurhur realistic Port crowd tho.

I really don't see why they can't have people standing on the hill. Makes AO as well as the smaller grounds like TIO and the VFL ones feel a bit lifeless.

Looks solid graphics wise, can tell most players apart which is nice. My main gripe with the more recent games is that they felt like tackle and handball spam fests, realistic gameplay isn't always the way to go. Would love more 1-on-1s and space to run in rather than mobs of 10 players hovering around the ball at all times. Maybe I just sucked.. but it still wasn't fun

it's already been advertised on steam as coming soon, so it's definitely coming out on pc..

Nah. Like I said earlier in the thread, I haven't bought an AFL game since AFL 99, so I'm not up to date on PC releases or Tru Blu/Wicked Witch. I thought it might be a sign that they ditched the PC.

Whilst I've got you here, do many people buy the PC version? Are there many online players usually and is the online usually stable or laggy?

From past experience with Tru Blu games, hard to find a game at random. I've never had massive issues with lag but that's really going to vary from person to person.

Your best bet will be finding players to have a game with on bigfooty.
