Sandilands is past his prime. Grundy is the best young ruckman in the game.
Too High: Garland (bloke won't make our 22 ever again barring a horrific run of injuries), Trengove (down around the 70 mark would be fair), Tyson and Jetta (early to mid 80s), Spencer (seen about 16 players below him that would get a game before he is considered).
Too Low: Viney (second best player), Gawn (should be our best and about 90), Stretch, Kent, Oliver and Hunt (all 4 are best 22 players and are ridiculously low). Hannan and J. Smith should also be higher.
Realised your missing Filipovic, T. Smith and Keilty too.
Who would everyone have as their top 5 overall and at what rating? Mine would be:
Dangerfield - 96
Fyfe - 95
Buddy - 95
Ablett -93
Josh Kennedy (Syd) - 92
I don't think you can compare the two purely as key forwards.I might be a touch biased, but how does Buddy keep getting rated ahead of Josh Kennedy? He's won the last 2 Coleman Medals and been the dominant forward of the AFL over that period!
AFL Evolution- West Coast Player Ratings

I don't think you can compare the two purely as key forwards.
As a pure goal kicking forward Kennedy has been better but Buddy is a more complete player, he regularly plays up the field and on the ball where as Kennedy is a stay at home forward.
Based on the last 2 years, and remember ratings are fluid and can change frequently, you'd have to have Kennedy rated higher than Buddy though. Even the actual AFL players voted Kennedy the top forward in the game. I'm not saying he's necessarily a better player overall, but right now he should be rated higher.
firstly, players watch very little footy, second as the above poster mentioned buddy contributes much more outside of goals.Based on the last 2 years, and remember ratings are fluid and can change frequently, you'd have to have Kennedy rated higher than Buddy though. hard to argue on those stats they arent at least equal.
I'd have Kennedy rated higher in the game mind you![]()
I'd take equal for sure. But I think it's unfair to have Buddy 2-3 points higher which is what a lot of people seem to be suggesting.
Thats as an overall forward though? Buddy is a better complete player. Kennedy is the best stay at home full forward but he doesnt do what Buddy does in the sense of pushing up the ground, winning his own footy etc and winning the Coleman in an era where the highest goals per season are about 75-85 isnt that impressive when you consider Buddy kicked 113 in 2008 including finals.
You mean as Forwards? Or in total Buddy shouldnt be 2-3 points higher? He deserves to be, what other key forward gets top-10 in Brownlow voting? Hes better, plain and simple. My opinion.

They can't be compared as the same type of player. Kennedy is the best pure forward but Buddy is a better all round player.
You're correct that they will both be set as key forwards which makes it hard because Buddy plays midfield as well but not enough to be classed as a FWD/MID.Unfortunately it's likely they will both be key forwards, and I doubt there will be sub-categories from there, so they will be judged within that bracket. I agree with what you've said though, Buddy is more flexible whereas Kennedy is a better lead-up forward from the square.
I think kangle4 gets my point. Buddy is a better overall player if you ask me. Kennedy no doubt is the better pure forward, but across the board I think Buddy does just about everything better minus lead-up marking and set shots for goals.
So your telling me that Stretch, Kent, Oliver and Hunt are better than some of the demons rated above them? I will boost Jetta up to 80 and Tyson up too. Spencer is the second ruckman, if gawn gets injured he's in? Garland may not get a game but that hasn't happened yet his rating demonstrates that he is gradually declining as his bad form continues. I wil add Filipovic, Smith and Keilty. What are there positions? ThanksToo High: Garland (bloke won't make our 22 ever again barring a horrific run of injuries), Trengove (down around the 70 mark would be fair), Tyson and Jetta (early to mid 80s), Spencer (seen about 16 players below him that would get a game before he is considered).
