Saints should embrace this, they beat top of the ladder Port there. Happy memories.
Cooler conditions as well which mitigates the travel a bit.

Squiggle tips Demons at 77% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
They probably should have just played all finals in QLD.
Same game style for the last 15 years kranky?they sent victorian umpires - they gave us more free kicks.
west coast corral rather than tackle most of the time. stops giving away free kicks.
drives fans nuts...
at leastSame game style for the last 15 years kranky?
Not really when you consider that those 2 teams you mentioned finished 2nd and 3rd as Opposed to 6th and 7th .This is bullshit it punishes the winner of the game in the 2nd week of finals as they now have added unnecessary travel. And to make matters even worse their opponent (Brisbane or Richmond) has no travel.
And why is it happening anyway? There is already a game at Adelaide Oval anyway. Surely if you were going to force a venue it would be Metricon as it's not being used.
I don’t disagree. Seems the pitch WA put together wasn’t to the AFLs liking. Shame. They dont even want to play the ones they should there... never mind playing more
They probably should have just played all finals in W.A.
unfortunately with the eagles in the mix it was never going to happen.I don’t disagree. Seems the pitch WA put together wasn’t to the AFLs liking. Shame.
All hypothetical Kranky.unfortunately with the eagles in the mix it was never going to happen.
if us and the purples were plodding this year i have zero doubt it would be in wa as they would make a motza from crowds attending as opposed to the empty stadia in qld.
All hypothetical Kranky.
There are a multitude of reasons why it should have been in WA. As we know, the AFL are heavily financially driven. We also know that the WA premier didn’t want to contribute a cent to bid for the finals. So perhaps that’s why it turned out like it did.
But thats a topic for another thread eh?
Saints should have been allowed to play in Qld. Imagine the outcry if this was the Eagles or Port in that position.
6 hours of unnecessary flying is hardly subjective.the difference between the saints playing at metricon/gabba/AO is subjective at best
they could have played the whole season in wa and made money from crowds the whole way.All hypothetical Kranky.

Why do you have this idea there is a specific anti WA teams agenda? But not SA, QLD or NSW teams.unfortunately with the eagles in the mix it was never going to happen.

This looks right to me. Given Saints v Dogs now likely at Gabba, then I reckon the QF finals will be Thursday + Friday.Brisbane v Tigers should be Thursday night as there is no NRL finals in competition (they run Fri - Sun).
Port v Cats Fri
Saints v Dogs Sat 5.20pm
WC v Pies Sat 8.20pm
could just as easily been an sa gf but port are up there too.Why do you have this idea there is a specific anti WA teams agenda? But not SA, QLD or NSW teams.
Notice the use of the word unnecessary.but we have been told constantly by Victorian know it alls that travel is not a factor
make up your minds
Notice the use of the word unnecessary.
Why put two teams on the same plane for 6 hours to play each other when they could play at one of the stadiums sitting in the state they are already in.
