Thought I'd bump this for the 2015 season to see if anyone has any updates.
I actually started this thread in the hope that supporters would adopt an official venue to watch Suns away games. The idea was to find a venue that would be ideal for the needs of the supporter group and was in a nice location. I'm sure if the venue knew it was getting a certain amount of people buying drinks/meals every second week then they would have no problem showing the Suns game.

We usually just go to the Sharks. Good buffet feed, pop the kids in the kids club and watch the game on the big screen in the sports bar. Live music afterwards.

For those in Surfers I guess you could catch the tram to the hospital and just walk across.

They run 24hrs Fri & Sat nights I think.

The Fidler's Green Irish pub on the western end of Cavill Ave in Surfers also shows AFL on the big screen.

Jupiters' owners announce new 200m high, 700 room tower for Gold Coast casino and resort
JUPITERS Casino owners have announced plans to build a second tower at its Gold Coast site.

...

It was also announced that a live sports theatre is planned to be a part of the transformation by owners Star Entertainment Group.
Fingered crossed they regularly show AFL in this new "sports theatre". Time for GCFC Digital to get in the ear of upper management and tell them to strike up an agreement with the casino to show every Suns game live in the new sports theatre. It could even become the official meeting place for Suns supporters to watch away games!

By sports theatre does that mean one massive screen that will show big sports games every now and then, or like a sports bar sort of vibe that shows a range of sports on different TVs?

But it would be cool to have kind of a fans hub for when the team plays away where everyone can meet up and watch the game/drink. I guess Southport Sharks is kind of like that I guess, although I havent been in a couple of years now so not sure if they still do anything like this?

More info from this article:
More than $500 million will be spent building a 200-metre high 4.5-star hotel and sports bar at Jupiters casino, soon to become the Star Gold Coast, at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

...

The "sports theatre" is proposed to have large screens where big sports events from around the world will be screened.

...

The sports bar would also be a live entertainment venue, Star Entertainment Group said on Friday.

"The sports theatre concept will be designed to appeal to both local and visiting sports enthusiasts," the company said.

"The attraction would provide a unique offering of live entertainment and 'event activations', with screens broadcasting sports from around the world, and an array of food and beverage options."

I have a feeling we'll end up with something similar to The Star Sydney's sports area:

It'd be the perfect venue for the kind of arrangement the Suns would be after. They already had that agreement with TC's in Broadbeach but this would be far better for the fans. It does say in one of the article above that Jupiters are looking to appeal to both local and visiting sports fans so I can only assume that means they are open to partnering with the Suns/Titans. I can see the sports theatre packing out for events like State of Origin, the AFL/NRL Grand Final etc. Imagine watching a Gold Coast team competing in a Grand Final in a sports theatre! IIRC, Channel 7 crossed to the Crown Perth's sports bar a few times during the 2015 AFL Grand Final coverage and I can see something similar happening at Jupiters if the Suns/Titans ever make it.

According to this article, the planned sports theatre will replace the current monorail station at Jupiters. Here is a render from the Star Entertainment Group:

That purple and white dome-shaped building is the planned sports theatre if you can't tell. The monorail line will be replaced with a foot bridge that will connect the Jupiters with all the action going on in the main area of Broadbeach.

Anyone know of a pub on the Gold Coast that will be showing the Brisbane vs Richmond game on a big screen today?
