Kangas are always good til bout mid season, it may be happening again, Waite starts missing from bout here on is the usual trend over the years

Same - they are the other I'd be laying to back the Hawks to make it

Just on the Rising Star market. I still think Jaidyn Stephenson is value at $4.50. He'll end up clear favourite in a week or two. He's now equal fave with Witherden and DoeDee, but with Collingwood flying and both Brisbane and Adelaide not going so well, Stephenson will surely stand out more than the other two. Post bye, the Pies have a couple of easy games too, so he should put in another few great games yet. He hasn't missed a game all year, and with his heart condition, he's a good news story. Seems like the perfect package to win the award in my book.

Picked the wrong forward-go-mid to kick a decent bag this weekend unfortunately (got on Rayner, hoped he'd crush it - although he still played well, tackled hard). Stephenson seems like a shoe-in with the style of play v half-backs.

Tim Membrey leading goalscorer for St Kilda @ $3.50

Currently on 15 behind Gresham (20). No one else really in contention. Membrey started the year awfully but has kicked 9 straight the past 3 weeks to go from 6.15 to 15.15 and has his last two seasons of 38 and 44. He kicked 23.4 out of his total 38.14 in his last 9 games last year (15.10 in first 11) and 23.7 out of his total in his last 7 games of 2016 (21.11 in first 10). So he does come home strongly in the past 2 years and has looked to replicate that again.

Gresham should kick approx 36-37 (30 last year, 20 now) I reckon and is a lot less likely to replicate his 6 than Membrey is. He isn't generating more scoring shots per game than last year, just kicking accurately. Very skilful player so perhaps this continues but he might not be able to continue at 66% for the rest of the year. While Membrey looks to be working his way up from his trough and should fly past 50%.

After today's effort, he's now outright fave at $3.50 on Sportsbet. Hope everyone got on!

Media also on board now with Stephenson - john ralph, michael warner, etc.
Should be a shoe in.
What do you think about Brown for Coleman?

They have a friendly draw. He's basically 9 in front now considering jezza will get a few. JK still injured. I think he's a good thing but buddy is known to kick a bag like last year when 10 in last round to win it.

Yeah good point.
I have to remember that the season is barely half way through. Though to me it feels like Brownlow, Rising Star and Coleman getting close to one - horse races.

Ask yourself who does the AFL want to win the Rising Star? Then check to see who shortens in betting markets before the announcement. And yes I am still bitter about Ryan Burton last year.

Buddy only wins every third year (2008, 2011, 2014, 2017) so you can rule him out for 2018.

I think Ben and Buddy are the two in contention for The Coleman Medal. Tom MacDonald as an outsider. All depends on injury/suspension too. Darling was making a good run for it until he got injured. Kennedy was injured at the start of the year, now injured again. Cameron - suspension. A lot of luck is involved. Buddy has missed a couple of games with injury already, but Ben Brown seems to stay on the field week in, week out. He's too short though @ $1.95.
