I got on Shai Bolton for the Brownlow @ $190

Do not expect him to win, but he's the type that will have a few clear BOGs where he stands out with a few goals, and a lot of good games so is a very solid back to lay prospect.

I also thought Melbourne Top 4 @ $1.70 is a pretty good bet to get a 70% ROI over a season.

Not a lot in the Futures market at this stage that I want to play at.

Agree about the Dees. Not bad odds at all for top 4

Don’t mind Collingwood to make the 8 at $5.50.

Historically speaking there is usually 1 team that comes from the bottom 4 and has a spike the next season and I see the Pies as the most likely. They also still have a lot of stars/very good players (Grundy, Moore, Adams, Crisp, Elliot, Howe back) that could prove that last year was a bit of an anomaly. Would also make sense with a first year coach (as one usually is a success straight away)

/unfollow this guy's tips :tongueoutv1:

Only kidding, but honestly I think the Pies are more likely to win the spoon than make the 8. McRae will have them in a rebuilding phase, and will have the support of the board to pump games in to kids and develop their gamestyle.

They always seem to get decimated by injury too.

Eagles least wins
Steele for Brownlow
Horne Francis for Rising star
$495 or $585 boosted

Reasonable odds but definitely not +EV to tie money up for 7 months on a $1.70 pop
I mean, technically this is true, but in reality the time doesn't really make a huge difference imo. Noone is perfectly efficient with their staking/tank ratios. ~0% chance the money would actually "be used better" somewhere else. It just ends up being another bet

Is it just me or has Betfair raised their commission on AFL from 2.5% to 5% over night?

Was announced late last week I believe. They only have three levels of commission now -5, 7 & 10

Our top 8-10 are very good but we're only a few injuries away from being ****ed up the arse.

It's a very even comp though, so if you want to take $5.50 to find out then go for it.

Will be on these.
Melb top 4
WB, Gee, PA, Bris and Ess top 8
$11.18 sb.

Team wins.
Ess +11.5, Gee +13.5, Melb +16.5, WC -9.5
$14.18 sb.

Small play on this.
Petracca Brownlow
JHF Rising Star
J Cameron Coleman
$207.69 sb

Yeowsers.

Elliot Yeo (I know he has a niggle) on pointsbet 17s into 13s for most votes for eags. Should be more like 4s. 10 votes could win it for eags this year.

Also don't mind Sean Darcy at 11s for a small play for freo.

They let me get a whole $25 on. Very kind of them

Imagine not being on these at 110-1.
Team disposal / fantasy multis
Gaff, Guth, touk, Lloyd, short, Bray.
Combo em. Let's ride.

Thought a sprinkle on Mitch Lewis to win the Coleman at 250-1 could be worthwhile. Clearly needs to elevate if he wants to win a coleman but the standard hasn't been super high for forwards recently and therefore I'm looking for longer priced options who have potential upside rather than taking the shorter quote about "known quantities".

Last couple years we've seen the coleman won on 58 and 42 goals respectively, which lends itself towards lower teams still being capable of throwing up a coleman winner. Also helps when you don't have another teammate kicking 30

Feel like he's about a 10% chance to elevate to that 50+ goal tally and put himself into the mix. Another option would be to multi him with hawks top 8 at 5.50 because I suppose those two outcomes are correlated. 1350-1.

Other longer priced options I could entertain are Oscar Allen, Georgiades and maybe Lobb.

I'm a fan of him most hawks goals at 5s

seems his for the taking to me if he can play almost all games. Koz/Jeka probably split games and not sure either have shown quite enough at AFL level yet to see them as a massive threat to a fit Lewis. The smalls like Breust/Moore should only come into the picture if Lewis is injured or very underwhelming.

You forgot Gunston.
