Shit. 99% chance we'll get that games engine for the AFL game too. Far from photo realism in those graphics!:thumbsd:

Still seems stupid that we'll have had a game that was previously unannounced hit the PS3 and 360 before a game that was announced 1 and a half years ago...with a high chance that it'll enter the 2 year barrier as well.

Its so stupid the way they do it. The crowd looks like crap but I can tell who the players are. In that Parra one Jarryd Hayne was easy to pick out. There's nothing even on the Big Ant Website about it.

Hey FIFA 10 crowd graphics are crap.

Sure these look a bit sketchy but they are good enough and with good gameplay I will be happy.

We have been waiting for so long it has to be soon.

Same mate. I think they probably waited to announced this and then bring out info on AFL 2010. The graphics are better than previous versions which is a great start. I'm gonna buy this game and see what the gameplay is like.

Looks very last gen or wii like graphics but its the gameplay that matters. Hurry up with the AFL announcement already!

But what I ike about the graphics is that you can tell who the players are. In one pic, Hayne,Farah and MArshall actually look like them in real life. Hopefully some news in the next week or so.

Graphics are pretty poor but gameplay is the absolute key to the first version.
Got time to fix the graphics in future versions.

In this email is somewhat some good news. In the next 2 months you can expect news, screenies etc to start coming from left right and centre.;

Hi Aidan,

Thanks for your support and feedback.

Big Ant have obviously been very busy with both games, and now that Rugby League Live has been announced we can start to talk about AFL. I would expect information to start filtering through within the next 2 months.

I'd say those screeshots look pretty promising. The body shapes look accurate. Also, keep in mind what someone said earlier about releasing screenshots and them not being a proper representation of the finished product..

Sure, its not photo realistic, but i think it doesn't look too bad and would be happy for an AFL game to look like that, providing the gameplay was half decent

Looks okay. Screenshots are always unforgiving compared to gameplay too - because during gameplay you're usually concentrating on the action!

Happy enough that I recognised many players in the shots too - not just three-faces-for-all-players like the previous PlayStation AFL games.

As we've all said - if the gameplay is the focus of their development, then I can live with the graphics at the moment.

It's 3 months off release, not gonna get better.

I'm just going on what we were told from Big Ant about "photo realistic graphics" simple fact is if they weren't going to be near that, no need to say it.

I think the graphics actually look pretty good (for an Australian made game).

I don't even care what the AFL game looks like anymore, as long as we get it.

Shame on you complainers.

One of the features of the NRL game is create your own player and team.
Hope they bring this in.

Always good to have this option once the original game play gets old.

Totally unfair to say this being a photo and all but the players look a bit wooden & reminiscent of previous efforts.

But you're right the gameplay here is all that matters.

Weren't you the one complaining about GT5's graphics on standard cars...?

I think I also read that you can create your own competition in the NRL game? That would be pretty awesome in this AFL game. Creating leagues like the VFL, TAC cup, WAFL, SANFL .

Bit different complaining about a game that goes on about how much effort it puts into making it all looking realistic.

And when there are many games in that specific Racing "simulator" genre.

How many AFL games are there?

Must admit, I think it's promising...but that's after playing the latest AFL game.... on PSP.
Still, I'm excited that there has been SOME news from BigAnt. They went quite for a long time on all fronts. Maybe an AFL game can make it out this year?

Surely if it is in the NRL game it will be in the AFL version.... that would be so rad.
Last thing I head was the minor leagues were going to be standard. A part of the managerial role or association role.

I presume that's the VFL, SANFL and WAFL

Exactly. hutchiebn00b is just dumb.

I was laughing at how the biggest and most hyped car sim ever (which has been in development for around 5 years) has stickers for headlights in some of their cars. Not only that but 80% of the cars don't even have a cockpit view.

The screenshots look ok.

going by the NRL game, which AFL player do you think will be on the cover?
