This should be in the "games" subforum but anyway.
There basically isn't a big enough market for AFL games. We are left with only little companies like IR Gurus making them and even that seems to have stopped. The PS2 is almost dead and it costs a lot of money to upgrade to a next gen development team and also takes a fair while to shift your knowledge to next gen. It may be a few years before we see another IR Gurus AFL game. Maybe another big company will come out with one in the mean time but I don't know.
There are some management games floating around, most noticably Footy Fanatic (known as FF) and Total Aussie Rules (TAR) which are both free games now.

Not really, IR have already made a next-gen game and it was stated on this board that they have the engine ready to make a game on it.

No, they made an engine for a next-gen Gaelic game, obviously they could just run the basics from that to the AFL one.

We've been in development for some time now and working towards a late '08 release. The Australian Rules Footy equivilent of Championship Manager/Football Manager both in quality and scope.

I don't think you'll see major companies developing management AFL games for a while. Premiership Coach may have a small (but worthwhile) cost attached but it's hardly EA making it. The biggest company we've had make a management game was the one that made Kevin Sheedy Coach and how great was that?
