Not really. It just means that if you elevate Boomer to Legend then there are going to be a lot of Legends because there are a lot of better footballers than Boomer and most of those don’t deserve to be legends either.

Why is Boomer being in the HOF not enough?

It’s such an arrogant argument to say it’s a matter of when not if he becomes a legend.

It would be like having Bill Russell and Shaq as Legends in the NBA and then putting Jokic or Alonzo Mourning in as a Legend.

Not wanting to derail the thread, but if we are looking back at players of ours that would have claims on being raised to legend, Carey and Greig have more claim than Boomer.

I mean Grieg has 2 Brownlows a flag and is on the AFL team of the century on the wing.

Boomer has a flag and the games record.

Carey is Carey.
