The amount of people who come here and make supposedly serious posts detailing how Andy D and Gillan plan our draw with maximum 6-day breaks, top 8 opponents and various voodoo dolls of Cyril Rioli being stuck with pins in order to bring us down is, quite frankly, a ******* embarrassment...
Correct - probably provides a great deal of fodder to those who despise us as well. I have no doubt the AFL favour teams which benefit them ($ydney are a prime example, as are the expansion clubs) - that's just a commercial decision as opposed to some pitchfork campaign against us.

It's like the clowns that follow interstate clubs and rant 'why do Collingwood get so many games in Melbourne, it's Eddie's fault, he runs the AFL' etc. Probably has zero to do with Collingwood having more members and drawing larger crowds, therefore generating more revenue. Nah, must be the Eddie conspiracy.

Have to laugh at the response to this thread!
Gee all I advertised was the look on the faces of the boofs in city hall.
Boy some of you guys love your tin hat comments.
Don't question anything, just go with the flow you all say.
I wonder how events would of been deciphered had we lost on Sept. 27.

My mum has a docker supporting friend, who regularly complains to my mum about Collingwood getting 11 games at MCG. Thats their home ground FFS.
I say to mum to tell her, dockers get 12 games at Subi. Obviously 1 away

Hawthorn doing well means more people at games, which leads to more money for the AFL, thus more money for the expansion clubs in the name of equality and higher tv ratings again resulting in more money for the AFL.

Maybe a few morons have some personal bias against Hawthorn due to us repeatedly flogging them in our glory years, but from a business point of view I reckon they absolutely adore us.

In fairness we were far from embarrassed in 2012. At the end of that telecast Dennis stated that it was one of the best GF's he had watched in 40 odd years
Glad he enjoyed it, because I certainly didn't. Although on reflection, (to coin a phrase from Paul Keating) it was the Grand Final loss that we had to have.

I reckon there's nothing in this. I know people like to focus on the stony faces of the AFL administration after the game but surely they were just trying to look nuetral and serious. If they had been smiling and laughing they no doubt would have riled up all the Swans/Freo supporters. Also, people are focusing on a couple of seconds of footage, for all we know they could have been smiling straight afterwards and just before. I'm not saying we don't get shafted from the AFL on some things but to say Gillon and Mike Fitzpatrick were unhappy we won is just tin foil hat territory IMO.
Does this mean that they should look like someone has just kicked the bucket??

My post wasn't directed at your OP, sorry if it sounded that way...

But your post gets the usual suspects out of the woodwork, who seriously believe that the AFL is desperate to bring us down...

If there is bias in the AFL ranks, though, it's for the expansion teams, and not against Hawthorn

And this year was the sweetest victory of all, one for the true believers. The people who, in difficult times, kept the faith.

People need to move on from Sydney's 2013 fixture.
Ours was hard in 2013, as it was last year, as it will be this year and as it should. We have finished 2, 1, 1. You are supposed to get hard draws.

Linking Sydney's cushy draw to the AFL hating us is an extremely tenuous link.

They don't hate us.

Oh God, why do these types of threads/posts keep coming up?

1. You will always find 'evidence' to support your argument if you want to believe it.
2. Who ****en cares.
I find it very hard to subscribe to a conspiracy theory. You will find similar threads on most other boards, some say we get special traetment, and the one on the Swans board how the AFL DON'T want them to succeed, but will do its utmost for GWS.

There are even umpires that favour Hawthorn.

Please no more of these threads.

Yeah. Apparently Stevic? I've even heard Razor Ray's name mentioned once or twice by my Essendon-supporting family. Holy Jesus!

Yeah .... Razor grew up barracking for the hawks!

These threads are what they are ... but I must admit that I was a little bemused when Vlad wore a purple tie to the 2013 grand final. Freudian slip or wishful thinking!

I can't like this post enough. One of my new favorite posters immediately. Well said.

Your follow up post was perfectly said too.

Oh my god, is that Dill shaking Clarko's hand?
But wait...................................................

For the true conspiracy theorists on this board........ Is Gill trying to rip out Clarko's heart here, install a new battery pack, or slip the shiv between our inveterate leader's ribs??? :D
