I know they got through to the finals but I just don’t see it with the swannies!

Seems most pundits here and more broadly do, so what would I know????

They have added a bit in Grundy, (I rated Hickey too though), Adams is waning and Jordan from the Dees is pretty stock standard.

What am I missing here folks?

Backline is a bit thin isn’t it?

1. Brisbane Too much talent
2. Sydney. Younger talent will go to another level
3. Carlton. Duh!
4. Collingwood McCrae just too likeable
5. Melbourne. Ruck rule will armchair Gawn and te midfield
6. GWS. Defend too well
7. Port Adelaide. New skipper who actually plays!
8. Adelaide. Year of the Thil
9. Western Bullies. Too much talent to be any lower
10. Gold Coast. Even Hardwick can’t
11. Geelong. Too many home games to fall lower
12. St Kilda. Bit harsh but unless King fires, who kicks goals
13. Hawthorn. Too young to jump yet
14. Essington. It wasn’t just Dodo that made them rubbish
15. Fremantle. Not enough talent
16. Richmond. So much pain ahead. Woo hoo
17. North. Still too young despite the elite talent
18. West Coast. Good luck Harley.

Most likely to be wrong on St Kilda, Port Adelaide, Sydney and Geelong.

You are right about the backline. Very thin.

Midfield is elite and Mills will come back with a vengeance to repay the faith.

McDonald looks like the real deal but can he handle a more prominent role?

I get the doubt and the inflation. Same can be said for about 10 other sides.

1 Brissie, should be determined to go one step further. 2 Blues, need to keep a lid on. But, truck it. This will be our year. 3 Swannies, Horse has a great young list imo. 4 Giants, Toby and his mates are loving Kingsleys game-plan. 5 Pies, very difficult to go back to back these day's. Should slip a little. 6 Dees, so much depends on Max. Petracca is a star and Kosi could go to another level. Hard one. 7 Port, defence should be better. Midfield very strong. 8 Cows, but would not be shocked to see Hardwick take his Suns to their first final.

Lions, Swannies, Dees and Saints all miss the 8 with *, Cats, Freo and Adelaide to come in.

Bold calls, lions have a pretty decent home ground advantage and have a good structure across the ground. Can’t see them dropping from a GF to bottom 8.
The others could slide a bit, Dees have shallow depth and serious culture issues. Saints play so defensively that they are always at risk of being beaten by a narrow margin, and as I’ve said before I don’t see the Swannies as a top flight team - maybe 8 - 10 kind of team.

Don’t think Cats make the 8 even though they have the best home ground advantage of any Melbourne club and even better than the Adelaide and Sydney teams. Bloody AFL!!!!!

Freo are lacking leadership both on and off the field so who knows where they’ll end up.

I think Adelaide will move into the 8 too!

Never heard of the Gunnamatta Golf Course? Heard of the three time Morno Cup winner, unless you mean The National you're a bit lost brother, crap beach anyway..
Saints?????

It is what the remodeled Ocean Course is now called at The National.

you can't rate a club on coach likeability - if that were true, bob rose would have had 3 flags.........

That would make sense!! Only ever played the old course, not too shabby either
I prefer the Old in Summer as it is the least wind affected of the three courses - in winter I like the 'Ocean' course as it is the least affected by water - most prefer the Moonah because the only challenge is distance on some holes - but I find it somewhat boring - like the designer himself G.Norman.
