AFL Live 2

I wish wicked witch could put in as much effort as you did.

The amount of effort needed would require all of WW and Tru Blu's thinking power combined.

the price has more to do with the competition, rather then the quality of the game

I recall BigAnt saying something along the lines of not being able to sell AFL Live for less than $80 without it causing a loss.... so perhaps there is something to do with quality?

Might be a different story with this game, wasn't built from scratch.

But who are the competitors? This game would only be known by a small audience because of the lack of trailer and information. I don't know what AFL Live 2 would compete against to be better.

As time goes on, all I'm expecting this game to be is a combination of Big Ant's hard work and Wicked Witch's piece of monkey shite Wii game that took a couple of months to fuse.

It will be shit like every other AFL game we have seen in recent years....Lets not kid ourselves Big Ants AFL LIVE was garbage also.

Go away.

What were you expecting? Fifa? Madden?

The trailer has to be coming out within the next week or Tru Blu are screwed in the head. I Can not remember a game not having a trailer.

I've already said it time and time again. But no one has listened.

Just double checked the AFL Wii trailer. It was uploaded on the 6 May 2011 with release on 19May. If I remember correctly, all images being posted of AFL Live 2 is going the same way as AFL Wii. So, my guess is the trailer will be released about a week or two before the game is released.

Now... Calm down, the trailer is coming. Not sure when but it is.

Which is stupid. Whether that's correct or not, it's been left way too late. It's almost as if this is the first time they've ever published a game and have no idea what they're doing.
From a marketing point of view, they don't seem too interested in selling this game. It's almost like they expect it to fail regardless. Which is poor on their behalf.

To you AFL Wii was shit. To me, its a game that is one of the best AFL games to date (well ios is better, shouldn't have been made for wii)

graphics = shit
overall = average

Day 62.... Still no sign of a gameplay trailer anywhere in sight.... Resources like money and patience are becoming scarce.

Whilst not being the way I'd do it, Tru Blu have managed to build some excitement waiting for any news to drop. I am way more excited for this game than I was for Afl Live and I think a lot of that is due to me knowing next to nothing about the game. Tru blu know their target audience is small and so they don't need to waste money advertising because the people that will buy the game will hear about it through word of mouth and other sources.

To clarify, in case people misread what I'm saying, I don't agree with how Tru blu have marketed (or not marketed) their product but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Obviously, we were very fortunate last time to have Ross here giving us everything but maybe the build up will be bigger going into the game cold.

Or maybe Tru blu know its a pile of junk and want us paying $60 before we find out for ourselves. My local JB HI-FI hadn't even heard of the game and actually asked me if it was worth ordering for the shelves.

The only possible marketing strategy I can see Tru Blu using is trying to actually, believe it or not keep knowledge about this game to a profitable minimum at the moment and then increase advertising during finals. Increasing advertising during finals means you might get more impulse buyers than you would say in August, it's these people who might make a decision not to buy the game during August and stick to that decision, rather than hitting them suddenly when AFL interest is higher.

Just trying to make some sense out of Tru Blu's apparent non existent marketing techniques :confused:

Interesting that when Bradman Cricket was made public Tru Blu talked about how it was Big Ant's honour to the Bradman name and made a big deal about their involvement.

AFL Live 2 comes around and no mention of any developer. Obviously we know it's not BA from what Ross told us but the wider public doesn't. From the screens and information released it looks like it's by Wicked Witch but they're not saying a thing, probably because if it were made public it were by the same guys as the old crappy Wii version then interest would plummet.

If this game is received poorly on release then I doubt tru blu would stop publishing afl games as if big ant are interested tru blu will go crawling back. Although if this game is bad I think the 'afl live' name needs to be dropped so big ant can start fresh without the burden of the last games reputation.
