Not great. Not deplorable. Kicking motion seems very awkward.

First thoughts is that all the motions seem to be very unnatural. Running is weird, kicking and marking seem like the days of AFL Live 2004. I went back and compared it with Big Ant's AFL Live and it seems to be less fluid than BA's effort.

At least the team management menu is good and the HUD's are readable.

Yep, I'm not impressed in the slightest. Those animations are really bad, and it looks like a return of the "speccy button" which gives the user a free mark. I didn't see any spoiling, and that tackle dodge looked disgusting.

Hopefully its more fun than it looks, but I've lost all hope of it being as good as Big Ants version. On the plus side the presentation looks a lot better than AFL live 1 so maybe it will be worth playing just for the career mode?

I'm not sure I will buy this, but perhaps my younger brother will. Otherwise I'll definitely be hanging out to see people's first impressions, and explanations of how the game works, but I really don't have high hopes.

And basically everything just looks stiff and wooden. And what the hell is the Swans player doing at 0:11? Using the rarely used osmosis evasive move?

And the menu flicker, why would you put such obvious glitches in the game play trailer, You'd think they had the time to keep recording and find some cleaner sections.

Anyway imo the graphics themselves are fine (fair enough we're not gonna get FIFA on their budget) but the kicking looks strangely familiar and I wouldn't have thought I was someone you'd want to motion capture for an AFL game.

Some unsubstantiated concerns have suddenly gained substance. That running animation is very stilted, players skate over the ground just like the Wii version. The 5 Geelong players chasing the one Swan, I hope that isn't a regular thing as that's the sort of thing you'd see in field sports games ten years ago. At least BA's version managed to maintain a semblance of realistic field position. I fear scenarios like having a very quick player and every opposition player you run past getting 'sucked in' behind the runner so you have a conga line of players chasing you down the wing. Looks like a distinct possibility. My prediction that it would be the Wii version with updated graphics may be closer to the mark than I'd like. OH BOY do I hate being right all the time!

I reserve ultimate judgement until I play it of course, but my initial feeling was disappointment, then dismay, then incredulity, then disappointment again. There better not be speckies every second mark. I've taken maybe 5 total playing AFL Live 1 and the rarity makes it a nice surprise when I get one, plus it's realistic.

On the plus side, the sense of speed seems pretty good, but given the improvements BA would have made to the gameplay this still feels like a step backwards. The packs of players chasing the ball carrier, just noticed that it seems prevalent throughout the trailer. Roll on the 12th I suppose. A trailer of uninterrupted gameplay with a bit of commentary would be nice.

WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THE TRAILER COMING TODAY...........

Number of things I got from this trailer:

1. Definitely made by Wicked Witch (Even though they are still hiding it)
2. Graphics are actually superb what are you saying it looks shit. The bit with the tactics, the image is of Patersons Stadium... Wow. (Sad no GWS Giants or Skoda Stadium shown on trailer)
3. ... Oh yes
