Handballing was fine most of the time, what was annoying was seeing Adam Selwood chase down Cyril Rioli (or anyone for that matter).

And Subiaco and the SCG having the same dimensions.

I'm sure there were reasons but hopefully both of those have been worked out in AFL Live 2.

EDIT: One aspect I loved about the original was that interchanges were automated and were usually done properly. For example, the AI never put Josh Kennedy (WCE) in the midfield or Darren Glass in a forward pocket, but I did sometimes see Nic Nat roving to Dean Cox, which does happen in real life too. I used to hate pausing the old PS2 games every minute or so to make interchanges. Hopefully they're automated and intelligent in AFL Live 2 as well.

People get chased down because they run in a straight line. Change it up.

Stop, arc around, fend them off and gain space.

There are better options than "get ball and sprint".

Sick of people who whinge about it. I have no trouble finding space with my runners. Only try it when they are the best option to attack.

I'm going to assume the mechanics of career mode will be very similar to the Wii version. Can someone familiar with that game tell me how it works. Say I create a player (which will, of course, be me :D). Do I start off in the TAC Cup? Do I then get drafted by a random VFL side or do I choose which one I go to? Then moving to the AFL, do you get drafted (ie if you dominate the VFL will you end up at a crappy club like Melbourne which will have a high draft pick) or can you choose?
'. !
I own both Wii and the iPad port and basically you start a career and chose who to play for. From memory you can only be offered a contract by an AFL team and/or another team in the same league as you. You don't enter the draft but at seasons end you will be offered a number of contracts from teams depending on your success in the season( includes in field performance aswell as finances etc.) and from there you choose who to play for. It's annoying as I'd like a draft or even just a random team picks you up to imply a draft but at the same time in career mode you are a player but also the coach so the idea of choosing who to play or coach for makes sense when you think that you're a coach.

Are there any VFL clubs that aren't aligned with an AFL club? Because as an Eagles fan I don't want my created player playing for say Essendon's reserves!
I was going to say the Northern Blues but I don't think you'd fall for that... Had a cousin playing with Frankston and they are not aligned, should be challenging too :)

Oh good, i'm not the only one. I have no problems breaking away with speedsters, when the situation permits. It's like everyone wants to just be able to handball to Dangerfield or Jetta and have them run the length of the ground untackled every single time.

I wonder if people complain about other games in the same way just because they can't figure them out. "GTA was shit because i kept dying in shootouts after running out of ammo." "GT5 sucked because the other cars would always beat me."

Ross. Start planning now! Ask for the official licensing to all the state leagues (must be cheaper than afl license) and build the game that all footy fans are craving for. Think of it Wafl, Vfl, Sanfl etc and even state games. With this you can even include foxtel cup. Nut down the gameplay and the Afl will be begging for you to pick up their license again.

On the alignment sides they have no impact, my player played for the northern blues( with hopes of playing for Carlton as I'm a bootsma fan and he's made me back Carlton more haha) but at seasons end your not guaranteed to get a contract offer from the blues or whoever your alignment side may be. Also the alignment sides don't have alot of the players such as bootsma can't play for northern blues ( not on their list) but others such as warnock ( traitor) Rowe and yarran are all on the northern blues list.

Tbh it doesn't seem like the AFL care about how good or bad their games are (Remember all of the games in the past?)

They just seem to like to use it as a marketing tool/cash grab.
No wonder they went off BigAnt so quickly when AFL Live 1 didn't make a profit (or not much of one)

Basically I want to know if it's easy to end up at the club you support in career mode or is it random (thanks to the draft)?

wherever you go your created player follows you to, the manager name u give yourself is also the name of the created player so it's like a player/coach role. I'm not sure that will apply in this game though

That's the single worst thing I've heard since it was announced that Big Ant weren't making AFL Live 2.
If you can't admit the guys got some talent then you've got a few screws loose. Yes he makes some mistakes but he's got great potential and similar to another favourite defender of mine ( Zac Dawson) I reckon Bootsma could flourish under a Ross Lyon game plan.

I got a feeling when I buy this game, I'm gonna laugh at how crap it is and how stupid I am for purchasing it. Then I'll probably keep on playing and start to like it, only because I don't have a choice.

Was giving the trailer another look again earlier, noticed a really weird thing with regards to the umpires.

Why do they end up so close to each other so much?!

I get this one could be a relatively minor thing. But it's just another weird thing adding on top of so many other weird things.

Like Rhys Shaw being captain of Sydney in the career mode look through, why let that in?

Let's compare shall we...

To my eye, the BA effort looks much, much more solid. The kicking action may be better in the WW effort. Rose coloured glasses indeed. Remember, that game is over 2 years old.
It'd be more believable if you swapped the numbers making the first trailer AFL Live 2 and the second AFL Live. The new game looks a step back rather than forward.
As a footy fan I want to buy. As a video game fan I'm vehemently against such a shoddy looking product.

also the set shots. the kickers are far too close to the player on the mark

So basically what you're saying is that Bootsma could develop into the new Zac Dawson.

I'll get the shotgun, someone bring Josh out back.
