Maybe I read the instructions book wrong.. it's frustrating that it's hard to practice spoiling in a training scenario. Oh well. Thanks guys

Don't know if you know, but you also don't need to time your spoils. You can just hold L2 and the stick before hand until the ball gets to you and they'll just automatically spoil at the right time.
Also be aware that spoiling isn't perfect. There'll be a few times where you'll be trying your hardest to spoil but the CPU's full forward will mark easily while your guy just stands there like a training cone.

Oh Thanks did not know about timing... but as for standing like a cone... I am aware
Thank god it's just the comp that's like this, when I start playing online it should be different yes?

Yeah online spoiling is a lot more reliable, but will still fail occasionally.
