More quality work by the daily mercury. Get limited AFL Mackay coverage in the paper for games, results, etc, but when a north mackay saints player smashes someone in the face while on the drink, the daily mercury has a picture of him wearing his saints guernsey.

Toss a coin between Sea-Eagles Vs Hawks in the GF.....Umpires will have the biggest impact on who wins.
MJ Miller to Peters from Magpies. If he only needs 1 game to make the NQ team then give him the MJ as well.

We don't have club rooms or have to mow and mark grounds but it costs us a lot in money for the club to use this facility. We rarely get to have preseason training there plus we lose 1-2 home games a year due to wet weather. Our ability to generate $$ is limited to canteen and our valued sponsors. This gives all other clubs a significant advantage to generate revenue and hold functions at lower costs.

Spirit, tradition and culture don't come from honour boards and club rooms but the quality of people u have involved at a club. This is the biggest reason for our success at the Hawks.

Just proves how irrelevant rep football is up in mackay - no one is interested in it and it clearly means nothing as a selection criteria.

Representative football should always be selected based on form not 'Names'. Always has been a problem always will be. But who decides who is in the best form is the hard question. Do we base it off the dopes I.e. The umpires selections of 3-2-1 up to the point of the rep round? I think not. Do we go off who coaches think were there best up until the point of selection? Favourites could come into play. It's a slippery slope. I personally think they need to make representative sought after, make people want to play it. Select the team based off that. That Thompson guy got best on for the Mackay Vs. Rockhampton. Yet Peters and Proud are selected over him when they didn't even participate. Yes based on form Proud does deserve it as much as Thompson but Peters not a chance his team are bottom of the ladder.

I couldn't agree more! Mackay City (Homeless) Hawks are merely a TEAM not a CLUB!

Things are hotting up at the pointy end! Most spots for finals are cemented, who will be the 4th spot Swannies or Bakers??
 
Saints had the chance to put the hawks out in straight sets and choked. Didn't see the point of all the tears from the saints full forward though. Could here him from the harrup park deck abusing his team mates for most of the game.

He did exactly the same thing the week before in the final vs Swans - biggest sook and non-team player in the comp. Notice when he kicks a goal he has to run to his team mates to get any acknowledged.
 
What a great day of footy on Grand Final day. The best team definitely won the seniors but it was a quality contest all day especially the toe to toe when both teams first ran on the ground. Also congratulations to the Hawks for stacking their reserves and making a mockery of that game. Some things will never change.

Tigers already signed 2 Sea Eagles premiership players
Swans offering big money for a playing senior coach
Bulldogs returning to the seniors
